Learning to paddle is one of the key steps in operating a manual sewing machine, and our Year 9 students took on the challenge with enthusiasm during their Home Economics class.
They enjoyed every bit of the process — from understanding the machine parts to coordinating foot movement and hand control.
The class was interactive and fun, and the students left with both practical skills and a new appreciation for craftsmanship. Learning by doing made the lesson memorable and impactful.

Thursdays are dedicated to our enrichment program, and yesterday‘s session was a remarkable one.
We had a wide range of activities running simultaneously, from photography and hairdressing to the music club. It was refreshing to step outside textbooks and learn practical hands-on skills in a collaborative environment.
The experience was both educational and inspiring. Participants not only picked up new talents, but also built confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Overall, the enrichment program continues to add real value by broadening our skills and experiences beyond the classroom.

As part of our drive to inculcate hands-on learning, students are given practical projects each term.
For this term, the Year 8 students were assigned a Basic Science project to come up with and demonstrate ways of generating electricity. The students approached the task diligently and applied their classroom knowledge to real-world problem solving.
It was a valuable experience that showed how learning extends beyond textbooks into practical innovation.
