These are disheartening images of some recently graduated secondary school students during their sign-out celebrations. While such activities may seem normal to some people, I personally find them unethical and inappropriate, especially in a society that values discipline, moral responsibility, and decency.

Although celebrating the completion of final examinations is understandable and inevitable, the manner in which such celebrations are conducted is equally important. Unfortunately, some students engage in activities that raise serious concerns about the values being promoted among young people.

Many people often wonder why some students become unruly or engage in misconduct shortly after gaining admission into higher institutions. In many cases, these behaviours begin to develop during secondary school. Under the guise of celebration, some teenagers attend clubs and parties or engage in conduct that many consider immoral, while society increasingly accepts such actions as normal, civilized, or a reflection of westernization.

As these attitudes become ingrained from an early stage, they are often carried into tertiary institutions, contributing to the decline of discipline and moral standards on many campuses. Today, some higher institutions are frequently criticized for becoming centres of various unethical and irresponsible behaviours, some of which may have roots in patterns established during earlier years of schooling.

In light of these concerns, several questions arise:

- Do you think the government would be justified in restricting or banning certain forms of sign-out celebrations?
- What practical measures can parents, schools, religious institutions, and society adopt to address these issues?
- Do you think it is appropriate for nursery and primary school pupils to participate in sign-out celebrations?
- Were schools that prohibited sign-out celebrations right in doing so?

Your thoughtful and constructive responses will go a long way in helping us understand how best to address the moral and social challenges increasingly observed among our younger generation.
