Fast forward to 2019 President Buhari officially recognised June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy Day. A long overdue acknowledgement that the Nigerian people's will cannot be buried forever.

Your LinkedIn and Upwork profile is quietly costing you clients.
Here are 5 mistakes keeping you stuck at zero reviews.

1. You're writing a résumé, not a sales letter.
Your profile is your first interview and most freelancers are failing it before the client even finishes reading the headline.
Listing your degree, your tools, and your past job titles tells a client where you've been. It says nothing about what you can do for them.

2. You're talking about yourself, not their problem.
"I am a skilled social media manager with 3 years of experience" is not positioning it's noise. Clients are scanning your profile with one question in mind can this person solve my problem? If your opening line doesn't answer that immediately, they're gone.

3. You have no clear offer.
Vague profiles attract vague clients or none at all. The top 3% of earners on Upwork and LinkedIn don't leave people guessing. Their profile reads like a specific promise: this is who I help, this is the result I deliver, this is why you should choose me.

4. Your headline is doing zero selling.
"Virtual Assistant | Hardworking | Available for hire" is not a headline. It's a placeholder. Your headline is prime real estate. It should stop the right client mid-scroll.

5. You have no social proof anchoring trust.
No results, no numbers and no client wins. Nothing that makes a stranger think this person has done this before and delivered. Even one strong testimonial or quantified result changes everything.

Clients aren't hiring your past. They're buying your future your ability to solve a problem they have right now.
Your profile must speak directly to their pain and promise a clear, credible solution. Every word should earn its place.
