I recently came across a video featuring a parent criticizing a school for allegedly cutting her child's hair without her consent. Although I have not heard the school's side of the story, I would like to highlight some key points from this incident.

In many rural schools, it is not uncommon for teachers to take matters into their own hands and cut students' hair for various reasons.

I will share my thoughts in two parts.
To schools:
Firstly, schools should not engage in such practices. Cutting a child's hair without parental consent is unacceptable and can be considered inhumane. Even if a child's hair requires attention, the school should communicate with the parent rather than taking drastic measures. This approach not only respects the parent's rights but also prevents potential health risks associated with using unsterilized scissors. Schools can certainly do better by adopting more considerate and safer practices.

To Parents:
Parent have a responsibility to ensure their children are well-groomed and adhere to school standards. Parents should be aware of the school's expectations regarding appearance and take necessary steps to ensure their children comply. Regular grooming is essential for a child's self-confidence and overall development.

In conclusion, both schools and parents can improve by working together, communicating effectively, and respecting each other's roles to create a more supportive environment for children.

I have been feeling extremely sad and distraught. I make a concerted effort to maintain my page by posting daily, as it brings me joy and enables global interactions.

However, a distressing incident occurred on Tuesday, when a so called brother
damaged my Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus.

This happened after I declined to assume his responsibilities and provide support. The individual often made statements to the effect that 'Ndi Anambra nwere ego na enwe imbecile ha ji gwuo ogwu ego mana ha anaghi ekwe ka agu guo imbe di n'be ha, ha na eyiye ha designers maka na ha mara na o ya na agbor ego, abum imbecile unu, unu ga na emere m ihe obula nchoro,'

which translates to 'Wealthy Anambra people do have imbeciles at home that were used for money rituals. They do feed them well, cloth them with designer clothes, and provide every one of their needs wholeheartedly, knowing fully well that the money they have is gotten from the imbecile. So, we should see him as our own imbecile in the family and treat him the same.'

Who still have this mentality in this age and time? Who forces people to do things for them even when it's not convenient?

This was how he injured me and smashed my phone and kept me off Facebook for days

Do you have someone like this at home?
Please suggest, what's the best way to handle this.

Story to be continued...

I humbly acknowledge that this picture doesn't belong to me,

it's everywhere on social media, accompanied by various captions that reveal the depth of a parent's worst nightmare. As I reflect on these stories, I gain a profound understanding of the anguish.

There are indeed levels to pain, and as a mother, parent, and carer, the most unbearable fear is losing or being separated from your child. The agony intensifies when you know your child is not only in peril but also subjected to unimaginable suffering in an unsafe environment.
This emotional torment can be more devastating than death itself.

How can a parent process the disappearance of their child who left for school but never returned home for weeks? It's heart wrenching. 😭
I empathize with the teachers who were also held hostage; no one deserves such an ordeal.

Mercy is the plea of our hearts.

Lord, we fervently pray for the safe return of these children and teachers to their families. Amen.

Watch to the end and see how a Nursery 1 pupil delivered a neat, intelligent work.

So today, I noticed that most of my pupils had a cough. The sound of coughing filled the classroom. Maybe it's that time of year. The flu is in the air, I guess.
Suddenly, I remembered something really funny that made me smile. In my village as a child, whenever I coughed, my grandparents, especially my grandmother, would say to me, 'Ndo Nwam' (sorry, my child), and then turn to say to the cough, 'Ukwara kwuru chere nka' (cough, stop and wait till old age). This particular sentence comes from a place of love and how much she wanted me to be relieved from the cough. Every grandparent in my village says this to their grandchildren whenever they cough. Now I had to reflect on that statement and I came to the conclusion that the statement is not just funny but also not what someone would want. Who wants to experience cough at old age? 🤣 Coughing in old age is not something any human would want for themselves. Did you experience the same while a child?
