I didn't lose the job because I wasn't qualified. I lost it because I couldn't use the tools.
That was the painful realization of a young job seeker after an interview.
He had the degree.
He had the confidence.
He even answered most of the questions correctly.
Then the interviewer asked, "Can you collaborate on Google Docs? Manage files on Google Drive? Schedule meetings with Google Calendar?"
His answer was simple: No.
In today's workplace, knowing how to use Google productivity tools is no longer a bonus, it's an expectation.
Whether you're working in an office, remotely, or running your own business, tools like Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet, and Calendar help you:
- Work faster and smarter
- Collaborate with teams in real time
- Stay organized and meet deadlines
- Access your work from anywhere
- Increase your value to employers
The modern workplace rewards people who can get things done efficiently, not just those who have certificates.
The question is: If an employer asked you to use Google productivity tools today, would you be ready?

We’ve been asking you to check your digital skills.
Now let’s talk about the one skill most people overlook and it’s costing them daily.
It’s not coding. It’s not graphic design.
It’s digital communication.
✓ Sending a poorly written email to a client.
✓ Responding to a professional message like it’s a WhatsApp chat.
✓ Not knowing how to structure a report or proposal digitally.
These small things are quietly damaging careers and businesses every single day.
The good news?
It’s one of the easiest skills to learn and once you have it, every other digital skill becomes more powerful.
At LAskill, digital communication is one of the first things we teach because it unlocks everything else.
What’s one professional communication mistake you’ve seen (or made)?
Drop it in the comments. No judgment here 😄

Two freelancers got the same client.
The beginner freelancer replied:
“Send all the details.”
“No upfront payment.”
“I can finish everything today.”
The smart freelancer replied:
“Here’s my process.”
“50% payment before work begins.”
“Delivery timeline is 5 working days.”
“Contract and revisions policy attached.”
One was chasing the job.
The other was building a business.
A beginner freelancer works with emotions.
A smart freelancer works with structure.
The beginner says YES to everything.
The smart freelancer knows boundaries, pricing, contracts, communication, and value.
Here’s the truth:
Being talented is not enough in freelancing.
If you don’t learn professionalism, client management, digital safety, and legal protection, you’ll keep attracting stress instead of success.
Don’t just learn how to work.
Learn how to protect your work too.
Be the smart freelancer.

“She said it was just a screenshot…”
That was how the problem started.
A private chat meant for two people found its way into a group chat… then a status… then everywhere. Friendships broke. Trust disappeared. Someone’s reputation was damaged overnight.
In today’s digital world, screenshots are powerful evidence.
They can protect you from lies, scams, blackmail, and manipulation… but they can also expose private conversations, destroy relationships, and even land people in legal trouble.
Before you screenshot or share that chat, ask yourself:
👉 Will this protect someone or embarrass someone?
👉 Is this proof or gossip?
👉 Would I want my own private messages shared publicly?
Remember:
Not everything seen online should be shared online.
One screenshot can save you.
One screenshot can ruin you.
Think before you click. Think before you post.
