The body adapts silently for months before it signals.

By the time the symptom arrives, the pattern behind it has usually been building for much longer. The symptom is not the problem. It is the message.

Has something small ever tipped you over when everything seemed fine?

If the energy follows the same arc every day — up, crash, borrowed second wind — the system is not failing. It is showing exactly where the recovery gap is.

That is useful information.

Morning person or night owl — and did that change at some point in your life?

Your energy is not broken. The recovery window has closed.

This is Part 3 of 3 — what is actually missing, and what changes it.

Eight hours of sleep and still waking up tired.

The reserve tank is empty..... but why does it not refill overnight? That is Part 2 of 3.

Part 3 comes out on Monday.

ine in the morning. Locked by evening.

Nothing dramatic happened. The system just never fully switched off between moments. That is a regulation problem — not a posture problem.

Morning fine, evening locked — does this sound like yours?

Stress is not just a feeling — it is a repeated physical pattern the body has learned to hold.

The question is not how stressed you are. It is where the body is storing it and what it is costing you every day.

Where does stress show up in your body first? Neck, stomach, chest?

Your body runs on a reserve tank — and most people have no idea how empty it is.

This is Part 1 of 3 on why energy crashes — and why it keeps happening at the same time every day.

Between June 3 and June 21 we move through a short but important seasonal transition.
In Balance Method Acupuncture this period is connected with Earth, the phase that helps the body move from the active rising energy of Wood into the full expression of Summer.
In the clinic this moment often shows up in interesting ways. Some people notice their digestion becoming sluggish or unsettled. Others experience fatigue, a heaviness in the limbs, or difficulty concentrating. Sometimes there is simply a feeling of being slightly out of sync — as if the body has not quite caught up with the season.
It is as if the body is adjusting its rhythm.
One of the things that continues to fascinate me about acupuncture is that we can actually work with these seasonal shifts. There are specific treatment strategies designed for these transition periods. When applied at the right time they can help the body move more smoothly into the new season.
Many patients are surprised by how strong treatments can feel during these short windows. Perhaps it is because the body is already reorganising itself.
Moments like this remind me that acupuncture is not only about treating symptoms. It is also about supporting the body as it moves through the natural rhythms of the year.
And since this seasonal transition lasts only 18 days, it is actually one of the most interesting moments of the year to receive treatment.

Most people come in expecting needles. What they do not expect is what happens next. The nervous system downregulates. A shoulder releases that was not touched. Sleep shifts that week. Digestion settles. The pattern starts to move — not just the spot that hurts. This is the difference between treating a symptom and treating how the system is actually behaving. What surprised you most the first time? Or if you have never tried it — what are you most unsure about?

Bloating after meals, sluggish digestion, that heavy feeling in the afternoon. Often nothing to do with the food. When the nervous system is running in high alert, digestion gets deprioritised. The body is not worried about breaking down lunch when it thinks it is being chased. In Chinese medicine, this is the relationship between the Liver and the Spleen. When the Liver is under pressure, it overrides the Spleen's digestive function. The gut does not fail on its own. It gets crowded out. Does your digestion change when you are under pressure? 👇
