My nephew Manaia is representing New Zealand on the world stage in athletics taking place in USA Oregon. He could have easily chased rugby or league - he played for Rotorua Boys’ High School 1st XV last year and won the New Zealand Rugby Top 4 but he has chosen to chase gold for New Zealand.

Manaia is currently ranked No.1 in New Zealand and No.5 in the world for Under 20 Shot Put. He’s a proud young Kiwi with strong Māori, Tongan, and Samoan blood, and is also studying through University of Waikato while pursuing his dream of becoming a world champion.

We are now fundraising to help get him to America for the World Athletics Championships. Any donation, big or small, would mean a lot and help support his journey.
