Business Update from Abus Na Kumu

Today we were locked out of our shop due to rental arrears.

This is a standard process for landlords, and many business owners and property holders will understand that this can happen when accounts fall behind.

For Abus Na Kumu, this is part of the reality and risk that comes with running and scaling a business. The road to this point has been a long one, and with ongoing delays to opening on time, this is one of the consequences we now have to face.

What matters most during times like this is how we respond.

We remain focused on the following:
Do not panic.
Have contingency strategies in place.
Maintain professionalism throughout the process.
Accept that some things are beyond your control, and prepare for the worst while working for the best.

Our current position and options

We are actively exploring financing options and considering every possible pathway forward.

This situation does not change our passion or commitment to our long-term goals.
Our support to our communities and staff will continue uninterrupted.
We will do everything possible to maintain smooth operations during this period.
We are grateful for the continued support from our customers, friends, family, and wider community as we push toward the finish line.

If opening this shop is not in God’s plan, then so be it. But we will continue to trust, work, and move forward in faith.
