The Army Cadets of PMA Gabay-Laya Class of 2016 hurdled the long and rugged road to reach the Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake as part of their Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) 2016.

PMA Class 2016 holds Immersion Program in Pangasinan | The Official Website of the Province of... The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2016 “Gabay- Laya” has expressed gratitude to the provincial government for its support on their three-day Cadet Immersion Program: Aksyon at Gawaing Bayanihan (CIPAG Bayanihan) 2015 held in Pangasinan from November 16-18.

The graduating cadets of Philippine Military Academy took their last Physical Fitness Test as members of the CCAFP last 15 October 2015.
The firstclass cadets underwent the regular PFT program which includes 2-minute push-up, 2-minute sit-up, pull-up (males) or flexed arm hang (females), and 3.2 kilometer run which were strictly supervised by the personnel from Sports and Physical Development Unit (SPDU).
The class obtained 97% overall passing rate.
The last PFT of the graduating class was followed by a Corps Boodlefight which eventually culminated the momentous activity.

The first class cadets engaged in a friendly inter-branch of service caliber .45 pistol firing at the PMA Firing Range. The purpose of the said activity is to develop and to further enhance the shooting skills of the graduating cadets in using short weapons.
The Navy Group won in the 5-man team competition. The members of the team are 1Cl Umaguing, 1Cl Bambilla, 1Cl Ablaneda, 1Cl Tumitit, and 1Cl Daodaoen. The Team Army followed in the second place with 1Cl Busilan, 1Cl Bea, 1Cl Bautista, 1Cl Espejo, and 1Cl Medalla as members.
In individual category, Army Cdt 1Cl Gumilab won by garnering the highest points in the two events conducted. Following him in the ranking are Army Cdt 1Cl Tangonan, Aero Cdt 1Cl Ilao, Army Cdt 1Cl Garcia, and Army Cdt 1Cl Clarianes.
The Department of Ground Warfare organized and spearheaded the said activity for the first class cadets.

The PMA Gabay-Laya Class of 2016 received the rare opportunity to sit-in and to observe in the budget hearing for the proposed budget of the Department of National Defense which was conducted last October 7, 2015 at the House of Representatives. This activity is part of the program of instructions in one of the management courses offered for the first class cadets in Philippine Military Academy. Present in the said hearing are some members of the Congress, DND Secretary Voltaire T Gazmin, AFP Chief of Staff General Hernando DCA Iriberri AFP, PMA Superintendent Lieutenant General Oscar P Lopez AFP, commanders of the major services and other high-ranking officials of the AFP.

The Silent Drill Company of PMA Gabay-Laya Class of 2016 once again showcased their talents and skills through a silent drill exhibition inside the grounds of Philippine Military Academy last 03 and 04 October 2015. These two performances marked their 61st and 62nd Silent Drill Performance in their class history, not to mention that their class has only 64 members at present. The number of their silent drill performances is about to exceed the number of their class members. It will be the first time in the history of the Academy that such feat will be achieved.
