🚨 Duck, Cover, and Hold! Earthquake Drill Successfully Conducted at Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School 🚨

In line with strengthening disaster preparedness and safety awareness among learners, Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School successfully conducted an earthquake drill participated in by all morning session students from Grades 8 and 10.

The activity started with a short orientation led by Mr. Santiago Geromo Jr., the School DRRM Coordinator, who guided the students on the proper safety procedures and the importance of being prepared during an earthquake. This was followed by the drill proper, where students actively demonstrated the correct β€œDuck, Cover, and Hold” response and orderly evacuation procedures.

The success of the activity was made possible through the cooperation and support of the teaching staff and the Boy Scouts, who assisted in ensuring the smooth implementation of the drill.

Preparedness saves lives. Together, we continue to build a safer and more disaster-resilient school community. πŸ’™πŸ«

DepEd reminds schools and teachers that assessment should focus on quality rather than quantity.

For Grades 1–3, teachers are given the flexibility to determine the appropriate number of assessments needed to gather sufficient evidence of learning while avoiding assessment overload.

For Grades 4–12, the recommended number of summative assessments per learning area per term are:

πŸ“ Written/Oral Works (WWs): 3–5

🎯 Product/Performance Tasks (PTs): 2–3

πŸ“‹ Examinations (EXs): 2 Summative Tests (STs) and 1 Term Examination (TE)

The goal is to ensure meaningful assessment experiences that accurately measure learner progress while supporting learning and well-being.
