As we sail through the ever-changing tides of leadership and service, the School of Nursing Student Council (SNSC) proudly celebrates another milestone at Gawad Arriba 2026: Leaders UKnight: Navigating Leadership’s Uncharted Waters, an annual recognition honoring student leaders and organizations who have exemplified excellence, commitment, and servant leadership within the Letran community.

This year, the School of Nursing Student Council was honored with the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, a testament to the council’s dedication to creating meaningful initiatives that extend beyond the campus and positively impact the communities we serve. This recognition reflects the collective efforts, compassion, and commitment of every student leader who continues to uphold the true essence of nursing service.

The council was also awarded a 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in recognition of its unwavering dedication and service throughout the academic year. More than an award, it serves as a reminder of our responsibility to lead with purpose, integrity, and heart.

Adding to this proud moment, 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐋. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚, our dedicated SNSC President and Auditor of the Alliance of Recognized Student Organizations (ARSO), was honored with the 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 and the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. He was also recognized as a nominee for the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. His dedication, vision, and passion for service continue to inspire the Nursing community and fellow student leaders alike.

As we face our Final Examinations from June 2–6 and June 8, remember that every sleepless night, countless readings, return demonstrations, care plans, drug studies, and clinical duties have all prepared you for this moment.

There may have been times this semester when you felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and ready to give up. But just like Ariana Grande’s latest song says, “hate that i made you love me”—you’ll probably hate that nursing made you fall in love with stress, caffeine, and studying at ungodly hours… yet here you are, still showing up, still fighting, and still growing. 🤍

Trust yourself. Trust the knowledge you’ve gained. Trust the effort you’ve invested throughout the semester. The hard work you’ve put in will never go to waste.

Take it one question at a time, one exam at a time, and one day at a time. Stay focused, get enough rest, and remember that your future patients will one day benefit from the dedication you’re showing today.

Last May 20-22, we had the privilege of joining the Critical Thinking Strategies for Testmanship Seminar hosted by Dr. Josie Quiambao Udan, DNM, MAN, RN, held at St. Joseph Hall, Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba.

This meaningful seminar gave us the opportunity to strengthen our critical thinking skills, improve our test-taking strategies, and gain valuable insights that truly helped us not only in academics, but also in our journey toward becoming competent and confident future professionals. Through every discussion and shared experience, we were reminded that success is not only about knowledge, but also about the ability to think wisely, analyze carefully, and respond effectively under pressure.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Josie Quiambao Udan, DNM, MAN, RN for sharing her expertise, time, and inspiration throughout the seminar. Her dedication to teaching and empowering students made this learning experience both meaningful and memorable.

A heartfelt thank you as well to everyone who made this 3-day seminar possible. Truly, it was a worthwhile experience filled with learning, growth, and motivation for the future.
