On this patriotic day, June 12, we commemorate the 128th Philippine Independence Day (Araw ng Kalayaan / Araw ng Kasarinlan). We observe this annually to honor our country's historic declaration of independence from Spanish colonial rule. It pays tribute to the struggles and oppression endured by our ancestors under foreign domination.
Freedom is one of the greatest gifts to mankind, yet for over 300 years, our beloved country was deprived of it. It was on June 12, 1898, when Emilio Aguinaldo declared the Philippinesโ independence from the window of his ancestral home in Cavite el Viejo (now Kawit, Cavite). It was at that moment that the true birth of the Filipino nation was establishedโcommemorating the time when the people valiantly asserted their right to freedom (NHCP, 2022).
Let us honor the courage, sacrifice, and bravery of those who fought for the independence and liberty we enjoy today. Their unwavering commitment to the nation and its people will forever be cherished and celebrated for generations to come. As proud Filipinos, let us continue to uphold unity and patriotism.

June is officially recognized as Scoliosis Awareness Month under Proclamation No. 620, s. 2018. Based on data from the Department of Health (DOH), approximately 2โ3%โor around 3 million Filipinosโare living with scoliosis, meaning up to 30 out of every 1,000 Filipinos may have the condition. For adults, managing back pain and radiating discomfort becomes an important part of daily care. Early health assessment is essential for proper diagnosis. If you notice any of these symptoms, we encourage you to seek guidance from healthcare professionals. Check, observe, and treat scoliosis when needed.
Let us always choose kindness, for not everyone walks a perfectly straight line. Some carry burdens that leave them bent, yet they continue to stand tallโdriven by hope and quiet resilience. Every beautiful curve reflects an incredible story of strength and survival.
Today, we gently remind you: embrace your curves. Be kind, because not everyone walks a straight path. Some may face challenges that bend their posture, yet they continue to rise with hope and determination.
You are not alone. Let us use this month to foster understanding, reduce stigma, and support one anotherโbecause a curved spine never defines a personโs worth. ๐

The graduating students of Nursing, together with graduates from Dentistry, Pharmacy, and the College of Education (COED), participated in a meaningful recollection centered on the theme:
โLove is the Anchor: Finding Hope in God's Plan.โ
The activity served as a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and gratitude as the students prepare to embark on a new chapter of their lives. Through inspiring talks, moments of prayer, and personal reflection, they were reminded to place their trust in Godโs guidance and remain anchored in His love amidst lifeโs uncertainties.
Following the recollection, a Holy Mass was celebrated, offering a space for thanksgiving and prayers for their future endeavors. As a special gesture, the Sisters of Servi Amoris gifted each graduating student a scapularโserving as a meaningful reminder of Godโs protection, love, and presence as they journey forward.
May they continue to carry these lessons in their hearts and remain steadfast in faith as they pursue their calling and profession.

On May 25, 2026, the Level 1 Nursing students conducted their first Nursing Case Presentation Simulation at Inday Pining Hall, showcasing their knowledge and skills from Health Assessment and Fundamentals of Nursing. Hosted by Nurse Mary Jane Garcia, the activity was held in two sessions:
Morning Session: โA Comprehensive Case Presentation on Septic Shock Secondary to Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia in a Patient with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.โ
Afternoon Session: โA Case of Acute Coronary Syndrome โ ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (ACS-STEMI) with multiple complications.โ
The event opened with inspiring messages from Nurse Jasper M. Movilla and CAHS Dean Dr. Yvonne M. Sevilla, reminding students that this experience serves as an important foundation in their nursing journey.
Clinical Instructors Nurse Sedlourd Mabini, Nurse Lea Jane Armeรฑa, Nurse Armida Gutierrez, and Nurse Keith Edillo also shared valuable insights and feedback during the activity. Behind the success of the presentations was the dedicated guidance and mentorship of Nurse Moneto Casagan, who patiently assisted and supported the students throughout their preparation.
Through the presentations, selected students from sections A1 to A11 demonstrated their understanding of patient assessment, drug studies, and nursing care plans. More than an academic requirement, the activity strengthened the studentsโ confidence, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills as future nurses.
