Week 1 of BUILD: Barangay Upscaling through Innovation, Leadership, and Entrepreneurial Development

The Allied Business Department of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, in collaboration with the School of Governance, DILG Region IV-A, and the Livelihood Enterprise Development Center, proudly launched the inaugural BUILD Program with over 20 barangay officials from across CALABARZON.

Through Module 1: Foundations of Barangay Entrepreneurship and Innovation, participants explored how communities can transform challenges into opportunities through entrepreneurship, innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development. Together, they began designing solutions rooted in the strengths and aspirations of their own barangays.

This marks the beginning of a shared journey toward building more resilient, innovative, and empowered communities.

A leader without vision has no ascendancy to lead. Vision serves as the North Star that inspires an organization or community to work together toward shared goals.

These goals must be articulated as clearly as possible so they can be pursued through strategic planning and effective management. Yet strategic planning and management alone are not enough. Systems thinking, design thinking, and data-driven decision-making remain essential imperatives of leadership and governance.

Today marks the second day of the Executive Course on Barangay Leadership for Strategic and Sustainable Development (B-LESSED), facilitated by our volunteer resource persons, Dr. Jesse Atienza and Prof. Marlon Pareja of DLSU-D's School of Governance.

As we express our gratitude to our resource persons, we are equally thankful for the active participation and commitment shown by our barangay officials from Cavite and Laguna.

B-LESSED will continue every Saturday until July 11, 2026, inspiring barangay officials to lead strategic and sustainable transformation in their communities.
