UPLB OIDHE met with Visayas State University to discuss their plans to deploy Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) students to UPLB BIOMECH. The meeting focused on the process and documentary requirements in preparation for the start of the internship program, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated implementation for all parties involved.

The Department of Engineering Science, CEAT, UPLB invites everyone interested to an online lecture series on Fundamentals of Nanomaterials Synthesis, featuring 𝗗𝗿. 𝗛𝘂𝗶 𝗟𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝘀 (𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗠𝗔𝗣) and Visiting Faculty of the Department of Engineering Science.

Their study “Design Enhancements and Technology Transfer Intensification of the Seaweed Dryer: A Practical and Reliable Engineering Innovation for Marginalized Seaweed Farmers” exemplifies how user-driven design, technological refinement, and community-centered innovation can uplift the livelihoods of local industries, in this case, seaweed farmers, through appropriate, sustainable engineering interventions.
