Christian School International (CSI) began its mid-year journalism workshop on June 8 and will last until June 18, 2026, aiming to equip students with practical skills for campus journalism and competition preparations.
According to the English Coordinator and High School Journalism Workshop Facilitator, Ms. Hazel Joy S. Flores, she prepared a structured plan designed with individual and collaborative activities.
Aligned with the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) and the Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference (RRSPC) standards, it aims to help students gain journalism experience beyond the school.
Flores said that she sent recommendation letters to selected students who possess writing talent, hoping they would see the program as worthwhile.
To ensure effectiveness, students will be asked for feedback at the end of the workshop, which will be reviewed and considered for further improvement.
Flores also emphasized that the workshop is meant to prepare students for real-life journalistic scenarios, not make them perfect journalists overnight.
Beyond journalistic writing, she encouraged the students to take opportunities despite their fears, saying, โGo out there, do it scared, and learn from it.โ

APRIL 14, 2026 โ The second day of Science, Arts, and Business (SAB) Week kicked off the Business Day, with Grades 7 and 8 students selling a variety of products through their booths. The activity aligned with real-life business practices such as selling, managing customers, and promoting their products as part of the academic experience.
Alongside the entrepreneurial activities, the mural painting contest was held as part of the celebration. Participants were tasked to create an artwork based on the theme โBuilding Smart and Sustainable Communities.โ Each group, composed of six members across the High School department, was given six hours to complete their artwork. To ensure fairness, participants were required to remain within their designated areas throughout the contest.
Meanwhile, the Grade 11 STEM nonprofit film project has released preliminary data regarding its recent screenings for their booths. According to the current records, Big Hero 6 secured 47 watchers and generated a profit of 3,810 pesos. While Wall-E recorded a total of 36 watchers, its profit remains undetermined as calculations are still being finalized.
It is expected that the remaining activities of the three-day event will consist of contests related to arts and performances, including the annual Amazing Race competition.

APRIL 13, 2026 โ Christian School International officially began its three-day event of Sciences, Arts, and Business Week during its opening program and first day activities, following the year's theme: "Building Smart and Sustainable Communities."
Held at the CSI Gymnasium, the opening program was hosted by Mr. Kerby Tacorda and Mrs. Imelda Quilitis, beginning with a rendition of the National Anthem by the Elementary Choir, and was followed by an opening prayer led by Rev. Nehemias Millares. School director, Mrs. Nilda Barletta, also gave her opening remarks, emphasizing the necessity of stewardship in building communities.
The audience was then shown a special number performed by selected elementary students. Afterwards, Mrs. Ellen Robles, head of the Student Services Department, formally introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Ephraim C. Quiรฑones, whose talk highlighted the importance of a good community that is built on connection, purpose, and support, guided by leaders who align and serve the groupโs needs.
โWho you are right now is not necessary to who you are in the future. But your decision now will be the shape of your future," he stated.
The program concluded with a closing prayer led by the high school principal, Mr. Henry Villanueva.
Following the ceremony, selected students from different grade levels competed in the Quiz Bee. The competition featured eight groups, each composed of one representative per grade level, and included three rounds: easy, average, and difficult. Adding a new twist to this yearโs contest, each group was given three โlifelinesโ or boosters to use strategically while answering.
In the afternoon, various academic activities were held simultaneously across departments. Junior High School students (Grades 7โ10) showcased their Science Investigatory Project (SIP) exhibits, presenting their research outputs. Meanwhile, Grade 11 students organized film-viewing booths, while Grade 12 students conducted a research symposium, presenting and demonstrating their experimental studies.
The event continues over the next two days, featuring more activities and competitions across the department.
