UPLB CAFS ICropS Microgreens Project

A day of sprouting new ideas 🌱

In partnership with Sprout Up Philippines and Yabong Pilipinas, the UPLB CAFS ICropS Microgreens Project successfully held a whole-day microgreens research consultation last October 13, 2025, with Registered Agriculturist Arvin Joshua P. Barlongo.

Students from Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural and Applied Economics, and Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship programs attended the consultation with thoughtful questions, cultivating insights for future microgreens research in their respective fields.

ICROPS Microgreens Project sa 3rd OA Fair

Tara na sa OARDEC sa March 4, 2025 para sa 3rd Organic Agriculture (OA) Fair!

Matuto kung paano gamitin ang microgreens bilang lahok sa paghahanda at pagluluto ng masasarap na lutuin.

Alamin din kung paano maaaring kumita sa pagpapaptubo ng microgreens.

ICROPS Microgreens Project was at UPRHS not once, twice but THRICE

The project's first training of the year was last January 8, 2025 with UP Rural Highschool (UPRHS) life skills teachers as participants. This was in preparation for their upcoming Food Systems Immersion Program.

On January 21, the project leader was again invited for a talk on microgreens production and utilization during the 2-day Food Systems Immersion Program participated in by 20 Grade 10 students from Los Baños National Highschool, UPRHS and Nicolas Galvez Memorial Integrated Highschool. There was also a cooking activity wherein one of the ingredients was mungbean microgreens grown by the teachers. The recipes were provided to the students.

Lastly, during the HE AGGIE FAIR last February 12, another lecture was conducted with students coming from various grade levels participating. There was also a cooking demo by our "resident chef" and a Masterchef competition afterwards.

This was ICROPS Microgreens Project's third time to join an exhibit (as an advocacy booth) during the Gulay Pa More sa Makiling last November 30, 2024 at he DL Umali Steps, UP Los Banos.
