Since veneers and crowns are very popular today, there are still differing opinions on what size, shape, length, and shade make a smile beautiful.
Recently, a dentist’s vlog gained attention because of her negative opinion about an influencer’s veneers.
But what really defines a beautiful smile?
I made an infographic—hope this helps.

Four courses. One goal.
To simplify how we think about Craniofacial pain in Dentistry, Occlusion, TMJ, Sleep disorders in real clinical practice.
This is not about ideal bites or rigid protocols.
It’s about:
• Understanding function
• Recognizing adaptability and maladaptability/ intolerance/ decompensation
• Making better treatment decisions

I remember one of my papers during my MS in Dentistry more than two decades ago, which remains very relevant to the pressing issues of professional ethics today. At that time, I spent many hours in the university library reading extensively because I knew the knowledge would be useful in my future practice. When I began practicing more than 3 decades ago and my clinic became one of the referral centers for orofacial pain, TMJ disorders, and revision orthodontics, the conflict of loyalty between colleagues and patients became inevitable.
In dental practice, conflicts may arise when a dentist discovers possible malpractice committed by a colleague. On one hand, there is professional loyalty and the desire to maintain good relationships within the profession. On the other hand, dentists have an ethical duty to protect their patients.
According to ethical principles such as beneficence and non-maleficence, patient welfare must always come first. Ignoring or hiding malpractice to protect a colleague can cause harm to patients and damage the integrity of the profession. Therefore, ethical practice requires dentists to prioritize patient safety while addressing the issue professionally and responsibly.”
Professionalism means
👍Avoid gossip or public accusations.
👍Follow formal processes.
👍Keep discussions confidential and factual.
