The Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Summer Remediation Program (SRP) began its implementation at Acacia National High School on May 6, 2026. The morning started with a kick-off program attended by student beneficiaries from Grades 7 to 12, tutors, and members of the School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA). Ms. Julie Marie O. Catacutan served as the host.
Prior to this, a parent and learner orientation session was conducted to discuss the purpose and benefits of the program for Acacian learners. Republic Act No. 12028, also known as the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program Act, aims to provide struggling learners with additional academic support through intervention classes, tutorials, and enrichment activities focused on reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Education officials stated that the program was created to help students recover from learning losses brought about by disruptions in regular classroom instruction in recent years.
The school focuses on strengthening fundamental and foundational skills in reading and mathematics to further develop learnersโ proficiency levels, which are vital for the acquisition of concepts and skills inside the classroom. A free breakfast is also provided to beneficiaries, ensuring a healthy mind and body as they immerse themselves in learning during the summer vacation.
The program is conducted five days a week, consisting of four days of face-to-face tutorial sessions and one day of home-based learning, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The duration of the activity is from May 6 to June 2. Simultaneously, the Senior High School department conducts its own summer remediation program, solidifying concepts in English and Mathematics in preparation for the next school year.
