📢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 | 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮: 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

In observance of Autism Acceptance Month, the Office of Student Affairs, in full coordination with Campus Life, and with the Support of the University Student Council, successfully conducted “𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬” on 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐈𝐈, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲.

The event brought together members of the PWU community for an insightful discussion on 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 (𝗔𝗦𝗗), emphasizing the importance of evidence-based understanding, empathy, and inclusive practices. Through the expertise of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐲𝐚 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬-𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, participants gained valuable perspectives on autism awareness and the collective role of educational institutions in creating supportive and inclusive environments.

The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐔𝐒𝐂) was honored to support the initiative through event facilitation, participant engagement, and program coordination, contributing to meaningful conversations that encourage respect for diversity and the dignity of every individual.

We extend our gratitude to the Office of Student Affairs, Campus Life, Dr. Vaces-Garcia, and all participants who contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative. Together, we continue to advocate for a community where understanding replaces stigma and acceptance empowers all.

Last 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, prospective students, parents, families, and friends experienced the vibrant PWU community through 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝗹: 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗪𝗨, an Open House initiative led by the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞.

The event featured guided campus tours, admissions consultations, and interactive showcases from various academic departments and student organizations, providing guests with a firsthand look at the opportunities and experiences that await future Patriots.

The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐔𝐒𝐂) was honored to support the initiative by assisting in the campus tours and engaging with visiting students, sharing insights on student life, leadership opportunities, and the PWU experience beyond the classroom.

We extend our gratitude to the Marketing and Admissions Office for entrusting the USC with this role, as well as to all offices, departments, organizations, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.

The Philippine Women’s University successfully welcomed delegates from the 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘗𝘈𝘙𝘌𝘍) for the 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐅 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 – 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 held on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗜.

The program served as a meaningful exchange between both institutions, highlighting PWU’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and values-based education. It featured welcome remarks, institutional talks from university leaders, a performance by the PWU Patriots Street Dance Crew, a Q&A session, and a guided campus tour showcasing key learning and campus life spaces.

The visit was led through a structured program that emphasized academic engagement, student formation, and the vibrancy of the PWU community.
PWU extends its gratitude to the PAREF delegation for the visit, as well as to all organizers, speakers, student performers, and facilitators who contributed to the success of the event. This initiative reinforces the University’s continuing mission to foster meaningful partnerships and transformative educational experiences.

The Philippine Women’s University, through the Office of Student Affairs in full coordination with Campus Life, successfully conducted the seminar “𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐒, 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒: 𝐔𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐥” on November 25, 2025, at the Conrado Benitez Hall.

The program opened with a message from 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒊 𝑨𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒛𝒂, setting the tone for a meaningful discussion on student rights and safe learning environments. The seminar featured a series of sessions led by legal experts, including 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑫𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒍 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒐 on anti-bullying laws, 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒐 on anti-sexual discrimination and harassment, and 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑴𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒐 on the Safe Spaces Act. The morning session concluded with a synthesis of key points delivered by 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒅𝒐.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of laws that protect students, while promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusivity within the university. Through informed discussions, participants were encouraged to take an active role in upholding safe and respectful spaces in the academic community.

The University extends its appreciation to the distinguished speakers, organizers, and participants for contributing to the success of the initiative. This seminar reinforces PWU’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and values-driven educational environment for all.

The Philippine Women’s University University Student Council (PWU USC), in collaboration with the Office of Finance, Office of Student Affairs, and Student Discipline Office, successfully held the seminar “Money Matters: A Seminar on Financial Literacy and Smart Budgeting” on December 1, 2025, at the Noel B. Benitez Hall (NBB Hall), PWU–Manila.

The seminar featured resource speakers from RCBC Bank, who discussed key topics on budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and financial planning. The session aimed to equip students with practical financial knowledge and encourage responsible money management habits essential for both academic and personal life.

The activity served as a platform in strengthening financial literacy among students, emphasizing informed decision-making and long-term financial preparedness. Participants actively engaged in discussions, reflecting strong interest in improving their financial awareness and discipline.

PWU USC extends its gratitude to the partner offices and RCBC speakers for their support in making the event a success. This initiative underscores PWU’s commitment to holistic, values-based education and student empowerment through practical life skills development.

📢𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬

In a landmark inter-university collaboration, the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) University Student Council, the FEU College Y Club, and the FEU Central Student Organization successfully convened the Circularity Masterclass last May 16, 2026. Held as a key component of the FEU Emerging Leaders Program and the Ayala Young Leadership Challenge, the online outreach event gathered a diverse assembly of students from PWU and other guest universities to address the urgent climate theme: "𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟖: 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚."

The masterclass moved beyond traditional environmentalism, offering a dual-lens approach that combined technical waste governance with socio-political leadership. The program featured two distinguished keynote speakers who provided the frameworks necessary for the next generation of "resource transformers."

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶 𝗦. 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮 led the first session, "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒉," where she challenged the conventional reliance on recycling. Prof. Espina argued that recycling is often a "symptom of design failure," shifting the focus toward a circular economy where waste is designed out of the system entirely. Her discussion provided participants with practical expertise in differentiating packaging potential and understanding the mechanics of "value loops" versus traditional disposal.

Following the scientific discourse, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗗. 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼 transitioned the conversation into "𝑵𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑." Ms. Milano emphasized that environmental advocacy is inseparable from nationalism and political awareness. She delivered a poignant call to action, asserting that the responsibility for systemic change should not rest solely on the youth; rather, the current generation must actively collaborate to solve the problems they helped create. Her session empowered students to use their voices as a privilege and a tool for mass building and community resilience.

Participants from PWU and various partner institutions engaged in a high-level exchange regarding the advantages of emerging technologies, such as reverse vending machines, and the critical distinction between "waste"—which holds potential for reuse—and "trash." The event underscored a shared commitment between PWU and FEU to foster socially conscious citizens who view daily intentional choices as acts of national importance.

This collaborative initiative marks a significant step forward in student-led climate diplomacy, proving that when academic institutions unite, they can shift the narrative from passive consumption to active, sustainable leadership.
