Congratulations to the Biochemistry 297 (II) students of AY 2025–2026 for successfully completing their public seminar presentations. Your work reflects not just technical competence, but the discipline to ask meaningful questions and the rigor to defend them in a public academic setting.
The class, composed of Miguel Enrique Pabona, Trisha Joy Matias, Jury Rex Flor, Ron Angelo Gatinga, Kayla Mae Bael, and Calixto Sabela, Jr., was handled by Dr. Leslie Michelle Dalmacio, whose guidance challenged the students to move beyond routine reporting toward critical analysis and clear scientific communication.
Well done!

Proud to have two of our faculty, Prof Leslie Dalmacio (Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension) and Prof. Salvador Caoili welcome the delegates.
IN PHOTO: The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila welcomed the delegates of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the ASEAN Member States, and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, in their visit to the UP Manila Museum of a History of Ideas on February 5, 2026, as part of the 2nd ASEAN Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) Network Task Force Meeting and WIPO TISC Regional Meeting.
The second ASEAN TISC Task Force meeting was held in Manila from February 3-6, 2026, and was attended by delegates from ASEAN member states, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
The visit to UP Manila was identified as a Model TISC visit in the Philippines, as ASEAN delegates expressed keen interest in learning how national-and system-level structures effectively support and enable the successful operation of Technology and Innovation Support Centers and Innovation and Technology Support Offices at the university level. UP Manila Technology Transfer and Business Development Office Director Lourdes Marie S. Tejero discussed the important role of technology transfer in translating research into useful technologies.
Inaugurated in 2025, the ASEAN TISC Network establishes regional collaboration among TISCs in the ASEAN region to achieve IP commercialization and innovation goals aligned with the ASEAN Intellectual Property Rights Action Plans and the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2045.
