UDM Bahaghari was recognized as one of the Top 20 Finalists for the Most Outstanding Project for Peace Award under the Ten Outstanding UN SDG Awards (TOUSA) organized by UN SDSN Youth Philippines. The award recognizes youth organizations and initiatives that demonstrate significant contributions toward advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through impactful and sustainable community-based programs.

Among numerous entries from across the country, UDM Bahaghari's advocacy and initiatives promoting inclusivity, equality, SOGIESC awareness, youth empowerment, and safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals were recognized, placing the organization among the Top 20 Finalists nationwide.

Additionally, UDM Bahaghari's application to the Global Youth Program (GYP) was officially approved. Through this accreditation, the organization becomes part of an international network of youth leaders and organizations that receive mentoring, capacity-building opportunities, guidance, and support in implementing sustainable development initiatives.

This recognition is a testament to the organization's journey and continuous commitment to serving the LGBTQIA+ community and the wider UDM community. Since its establishment, UDM Bahaghari has grown into one of the university's largest student organizations, leading various advocacy campaigns, educational seminars, Pride Month celebrations, community-building activities, and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all.

The recognition highlights not only the achievements of the organization but also the collective efforts of its officers, members, alumni, partners, and allies who continue to advance the values of equality, representation, and social responsibility both within and beyond the university.

In a world transformed by technology and artificial intelligence, one role remains irreplaceable: a teacher who inspires curiosity, character, and critical thinking.

As the College of Education continues its upward trajectory in licensure examination, another batch of Universidad de Manila graduates joins the ranks of the country's Licensed Professional Teachers.

Congratulations on this milestone. May your profession continue to prove that while information can be accessed instantly, true learning will always begin with a great teacher.

Our University President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria warmly welcomed the graduating Batch 3 students of the Associate in Barangay Governance (ABG) Program during a courtesy call, joined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs - Dr. Rejan L. Tadeo, Program Supervisor - Dr. Robert Norberte, University Registrar - Ms. Loida Primavera, and Program Coordinator - Ms. Laarni Hernandez.

The meeting centered on preparations for graduation, opportunities for continuous learning through advanced studies and upskilling, and the students' reflections on how the ABG Program transformed their perspective; from seeing themselves as government support officers to recognizing their greater role as public servants and community leaders.

Through the program, students develop competencies in local governance, public administration, leadership, policy implementation, community development, disaster risk reduction, project planning, records management, and public service ethics.

These skills prepare graduates for expanded responsibilities as barangay administrators, executive assistants, legislative staff, local government officers, community development workers, project coordinators, and other leadership and administrative roles within local government units and public institutions.

The graduating students also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the University for the knowledge, guidance, and opportunities that have empowered them to serve their barangays with greater competence, integrity, and purpose.
