Today, October 25, 2020, His Holiness Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Jose F. Advincula of Capiz as one of the new cardinals of the Catholic Church.
Cardinal-designate Advincula is the ninth Filipino to be elevated to the College of Cardinals. The last Filipino cardinal was Orlando Quevedo which was elevated in 2014.

In celebration of National Heroes’ Day on Monday, August 31, 2020, Bishop Broderick Pabillo will preside at a Mass at 12:15pm at San Felipe Neri Parish, Mandaluyong City. This Mass is intended to honor and pray for our medical frontliners, our present-day heroes fighting this pandemic.

The body will lie in state at the Villa Cristo Rey, Christ the King Seminary , E. Rodriguez Blvd., Quezon City. Interment will be announced later. Requiescat in Pace.
