San Mateo Senior High School (SMSHS) donated 240 armchairs and 16 two-seated tables to Silangan National High School (SNHS) on June 16-17, 2026.

With the help of Mr. Emmanuel Maulion, San Mateo Senior High School principal, the seats were successfully delivered to SNHS to help students learn more effectively and to provide more comfortable seats for every Silangeño.

Mr. Carlo Antero, Property Custodian, stated that it is a great help to sustain a conducive learning environment in the classroom. "SNHS faces one of its major problems yearly in terms of chair adequacy for learners,” he added.

With the initiative of other stakeholders and SNHS school's principal, Mrs. Susana J. Sacatrapos, Principal IV, the lack of chairs is gradually being addressed by producing more long tables that can accommodate at least five students each.

To simulate preparedness during an earthquake, Silangan National High School conducted the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026, held on campus.

Headed by Mr. Romeo Bolima and Mr. Jay Aguerra, School Disster Risk Reduction Manangent (SDRRM) Coordinators, with the assistance of SDRRM officers and Barangay DRRM, the advisers, guided the students during the Drop Cover and Hold and eventually proceeded to the designated evacuation center, Hamog, Phase 4A, Silangan, San Mateo, Rizal.

Through this program, the school improved student safety and preparedness for natural disasters such as earthquakes, reducing casualties.
