Today, we celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the Filipinos who fought for our freedom. On June 12, 1898, Philippine independence was proclaimed in Aguinaldo Shrine, where the Philippine flag was first unfurled and the national anthem was played publicly for the first time.

As we honor this historic day, may we remember that freedom is not only a gift from the past but also a responsibility we carry into the future. Let us continue to uphold the values of unity, patriotism, and service to our nation.
