Kapag malakas ang cooperative, hindi lang negosyo ang lumalakas.
Kapag malakas ang cooperative:
lumalakas ang farmers
lumalakas ang negosyo
lumalakas ang komunidad
Pero may nakita rin akong kabilang side.
May coop na malakas ang negosyo.
Pero hindi engaged ang members.
Ang dividend lang ang inaabangan.
Kapag nangyari ito, nawawala ang cooperative spirit.
Ang tunay na coop ay:
members engaged
leaders responsible
system clear
Ano ang pinaka magandang benefit na nakuha mo sa cooperative?

Sa ilang taon kong pagtatrabaho sa cooperatives, may isang tanong na madalas kong marinig.
“Sir, bakit hindi uma-attend ang members ng General Assembly?”
May coop na nakausap ako.
Ang sabi ng board:
“Sir, konti lang ang uma-attend ng GA.”
Nung tinignan namin ang reports:
walang malinaw na financial presentation
walang enterprise updates
walang direction explanation
Natural lang na mawalan ng interest ang members.
Ang lesson?
Kapag may clarity, mas engaged ang members.
Ikaw ba naka-attend na ng General Assembly na:
mahaba
magulo
walang malinaw na ulat?

Kapag kulang ang isa sa apat na ito… nahihirapan ang cooperative.
Minsan, may coop na napuntahan ako.
May negosyo sila.
May members.
May capital.
Pero wala silang system.
Kaya nahihirapan silang umangat.

Akala ng marami capital ang problema ng cooperative.
Pero sa experience ko…
kahit may negosyo ang coop, kung kulang ang system, nahihirapan pa rin itong umangat.
May naka-usap akong coop.
Malakas ang negosyo nila.
Pero nung tinanong ko:
“May regular ba kayong enterprise performance review?”
Sagot ng officer:
“Sir… basta kumikita naman.”
Pero nung tinignan namin ang records:
walang monitoring
walang financial analysis
walang performance review
Akala nila okay ang negosyo.
Pero actually nalulugi na pala.
Kaya mahalaga ang system thinking sa cooperative.
Sa coop ninyo…
alin ang pinaka challenge?

May coop na nakausap ako.
May negosyo sila.
May members.
May capital.
Pero sabi ng officer:
“Sir… parang hindi pa rin umaangat ang coop.”
Doon ko narealize ang isang bagay.
Hindi lahat ng cooperative na nagsisimula… tumatagal.
Nung tinignan namin ang situation nila:
may negosyo.
may members.
may capital.
Pero wala silang monitoring system.
Hindi nila alam kung kumikita ba talaga ang enterprise nila.
Ang totoo:
Hindi kulang ang commitment ng members.
Madalas kulang ang system.
Dito nagsimula ang page na ito.
