Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali Dootio, Dean, Faculty of Computing Sciences & IT, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, attended the SAR Meeting held on 7 May 2026 as an External Evaluator at Iqra University Main Campus, Karachi.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali Dootio contributed to the academic evaluation and quality assurance process, reflecting the university’s commitment to excellence in higher education, research, and institutional development.

On this occasion, he was presented with a Shield of Appreciation in recognition of his valuable contributions and professional services by Prof. Dr. Arshad Aziz, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Sciences & Technology (FEST). The Associate Dean Prof. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Director QEC and faculty members including Mr. Raheel Sarwar were also present on the occasion.

Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari continues to encourage academic leadership, professional collaboration, and quality assurance initiatives for the advancement of higher education.

Today, 5-5-2026, the Faculty of Computing Science and Information Technology at BBSUL, in collaboration with the Tech Society, successfully organized a Semester Project Showcase.

More than 70 students enthusiastically presented their projects, covering Mobile Applications, Database Systems, and Programming Fundamentals. The event highlighted the creativity, technical skills, and dedication of our students.

We were honored by the visit of Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali (Dean, FCSIT), Dr. Asad Abbasi (Head of Department, IT), Mr. Muhammad Shareef Assistant Professor and Mr. Allah Bukhsh Rathore, who appreciated the students’ innovative work and encouraged them for their future endeavors.

Special recognition goes to our dedicated faculty members Mr. Khuda Bukhsh, Mr. Rishab, Mr. Sheer Mohammad, and Ms. Tahreem Asif, whose guidance and hard work made this showcase a success.

On 21 April 2026, the Department of Computing Science and Information Technology, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, successfully organized an exciting Speed Programming and Mobile Application Development Competition.

More than 70 talented students actively participated, showcasing their skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

We were honored to have Prof. Dr-Mazhar Ali Dootio , Dean Faculty of Computing Science and Information Technology, BBSUL, as the Chief Guest, along with the respected Dr. Asad Abbasi Head of Department, Information Technology, BBSUL. They graciously distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up.

With the visionary leadership of Prof. DDr-Mazhar Ali Dootio aiming to transform Lyari into an IT Silicon Valley, such academic initiatives are a significant step toward empowering students with modern knowledge and exposure.

In this regard, approximately 100 students of Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) visited Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, Chakiwara Campus on Thursday, 16th April 2026 at 11:00 AM for an academic learning experience.

During the visit, Dr. Asad Abbasi (HOD, Department of Information Technology) delivered an insightful session on Artificial Intelligence, highlighting emerging trends and future opportunities in the field of technology.

Mr. Hassan Asif (HOD, Department of Sports) also conducted an informative session, introducing students to the university’s sports facilities and emphasizing the importance of physical activities alongside academics.

The visiting students and faculty were warmly welcomed by Mr. Khuda Bukhsh and Mr. Anwar, reflecting the university’s commitment to academic collaboration and hospitality.

Furthermore, Ms. Ambreen, Ms. Nadia Haseen Uddin, Ms. Maria Memon, and Ms. Tehreem Asif facilitated a comprehensive campus tour, providing students with detailed insights into various departments and facilities of the university.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Head and faculty of the visiting college presented a bouquet of flowers to Dean Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali as a gesture of respect and appreciation, and expressed their gratitude for organizing such a valuable and knowledgeable visit.

Such initiatives play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical exposure, contributing to the vision of a technologically empowered Lyari.

Today, the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology successfully conducted an insightful session on Git, GitHub, and Docker for BSAI 5th Semester (Section A & B) students.

We were honored to have Mr. Muhammad Zohaib (Open Source Developer) as the speaker, who shared valuable knowledge and practical insights into modern development tools and workflows.

Dr. Asad Abbasi (HOD, Department of Information Technology) presented the traditional Sindhi Saqafati Ajrak along with an appreciation token to the guest speaker in recognition of his contribution.

This informative session was organized by Mr. Khuda Bukhsh (Lecturer, Department of Computer Science & IT), aiming to equip students with industry-relevant skills.
