China has announced changes to export tax rebates that will directly impact the pricing of Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Starting April 1, 2026, export rebates on battery products will be reduced, resulting in an estimated 6 percent price increase. A further increase is expected from January 2027, taking the total impact closer to 9 percent.

What this really means is simple:
Shipments must leave Chinese ports before these dates to lock in current pricing.

For businesses planning BESS deployments, this is a narrow window to finalize decisions, confirm orders, and avoid avoidable cost escalations later in the year.
