Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) speaks to students at Geography Department
On 9th April 2015, Geography Department arranged a special talk by Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Director General (DG) of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122). The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) is the largest emergency humanitarian service of Pakistan with infrastructure in all 36 districts of Punjab and is providing technical assistance to other provinces. The theme of the speech was “Human-Induced Disaster Management: Accidents & Fires”. Dr. Rizwan Naseer talked with great passion with young students and encouraged them to participate in social awareness regarding emergency preparedness and management. He believes that without individual realization and reaction it is not possible to create a proper Disaster Management System in the country. He also offered students to take part in Rescue 1122 basic trainings in order to spread disaster management awareness among students. Dr. Rizwan Naseer was welcomed by Geography Department faculty members.
