I developed a Soil Series Map of Leyte, Philippines using QGIS, applying geospatial analysis techniques to classify and visualize the spatial distribution of soil types. The project involved data preprocessing, attribute management, and thematic mapping to accurately represent soil variability based on characteristics such as clay, sand, and formation etc.
The final map was designed with a clear layout, including legend, scale, and essential cartographic elements, making it suitable for agricultural planning, land use management, and environmental assessment. Through this project, I strengthened my skills in GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization using QGIS.

Spatial Assessment of Vegetation Cover Change in the Kamoa Mining Concession, Kolwezi (DRC) ππ
This map illustrates the spatial patterns of vegetation cover change within the Kamoa mining concession area in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Using geospatial analysis π°οΈ, the study highlights three major land cover classes: dense vegetation π³ (green), stable vegetation πΎ (light yellow), and areas of vegetation loss π΄.
The results show that while large portions of the region still retain dense vegetation, there are significant clusters of vegetation loss β οΈ, particularly around the mining concession area. The zoomed inset π further emphasizes localized environmental impacts, indicating how mining activities are influencing land cover dynamics.
Overall, this spatial assessment provides valuable insights for environmental monitoring π‘, sustainable land management β»οΈ, and informed decision-making regarding mining operations βοΈ and ecological conservation π±.

π Monitoring Evapotranspiration over Vietnam using Google Earth Engine
I recently conducted a remote sensingβbased analysis of Evapotranspiration (ET) over Vietnam using Google Earth Engine and MODIS satellite data.
In this project:
πΉ Processed satellite-derived ET datasets for Vietnam
πΉ Performed spatial analysis to understand water loss patterns
πΉ Generated ET distribution maps using cloud-based geospatial tools
πΉ Analyzed evapotranspiration trends to support water resource insights
Evapotranspiration is a key indicator in understanding water balance, agricultural planning, and climate dynamics. This project demonstrates how Google Earth Engine enables efficient large-scale environmental monitoring and geospatial analysis.
Through this work, I strengthened my skills in:
β Remote Sensing
β Google Earth Engine (GEE)
β GIS & Spatial Analysis
β Hydrological & Climate Data Interpretation
Looking forward to applying geospatial technologies for sustainable environmental management and data-driven decision-making.
