The Department of Geological Engineering recently conducted a 3-day field visit, starting at the Geological Survey of Pakistan Museum to explore galleries on rocks, minerals, fossils, and astrogeology. The second day took students to Brewery Gorge for a hands-on study of rock geology and stratigraphy, while the final day focused on examining rock structures and stratigraphy in the Hanna and Orak regions of Quetta.

We are Excited to share the remarkable achievements of three of our talented graduates who have secured prestigious positions in the mining industry (Reko Diq Copper-Gold Project), making their mark both locally and internationally!
Engr. Aurangzeb from District Quetta and Engr. Muhammad Ali from District Chagai have been selected as Graduate Geotechnical Engineers in the Graduate Development Program (GDP) at Reko Diq Mining Company, a subsidiary of Barrick Gold, working in Chagai, Balochistan. Meanwhile, Engr. Aimal Kakar from District Killa Saifullah has been chosen for the International Graduate Development Programme (IGDP) as a Graduate Geological Engineer and will work at the Veladero Mine in Argentina for two years.
This is a proud moment for our faculty, department, and the entire university as these brilliant engineers carry forward the legacy of excellence from the Department of Geological Engineering. We wish them the best in their future endeavours.
