Uraan Balochistan is a growing digital platform created to help the youth of Balochistan discover opportunities, connect with communities, join clubs and teams, explore events and venues, and share their voice through Flicks.

With 4000+ active users and growing, Uraan is becoming a local digital space where students, creators, professionals, athletes, and young people from across Balochistan can connect, participate, and grow together.

This initiative is developed in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Balochistan, with the vision of empowering youth through digital connection, community engagement, and local participation.

Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, visited Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), Quetta, where he was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, university administration and faculty members.

Vice-Chancellor of BUMHS, Quetta, Prof. Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri, welcomed the distinguished guest and presented a comprehensive briefing on the university’s academic, research, and administrative achievements. He highlighted the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic excellence, promote research, enhance the quality of medical and health sciences education, and improve institutional performance through innovative initiatives and strategic development.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar appreciated the progress made by BUMHS under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri and commended the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research advancement, and capacity building. He reiterated the Higher Education Commission’s dedication to supporting higher education institutions in promoting quality education, research, innovation, and digital transformation across Pakistan.

The visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Balochistan; Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Kakar, Vice Chancellor, University of Loralai; Mr. Noor Ullah Khan, Private Secretary, HEC Regional Office Quetta; and Mr. Ahsan Hameed, Deputy Director (In-Charge), HEC Regional Office Quetta, who accompanied the Chairman HEC during the visit and participated in the proceedings. The event was also attended by deans, directors, faculty members, administrative officers, and students of the university.

Professor Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri, Vice Chancellor of Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), participated in the 55th Vice Chancellors' Committee Meeting held on May 12, 2026. Hosted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad, the meeting brought together academic leadership to discuss key developmental agendas.Professor Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri attended the session via online link alongside Syed Aurangzaib, Registrar of BUMHS, contributing valuable insights toward the advancement of higher education standards.

In the pursuit of academic excellence and holistic development, Dr. Maheen Naseer facilitated a transformative learning experience for the First semester students of Speech and Language Therapy at the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), Quetta.

Instruction focused on the Fundamentals of Psychology, specifically exploring the intricacies of human attributes such as personality, intelligence, cognition, motivation, and emotion. To bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and real-world application, Dr. Maheen orchestrated a sophisticated pedagogical activity designed to internalize these concepts through observation and analysis.

Students were tasked with conducting qualitative research on distinguished leadership figures within the university, who served as living case studies for the psychological traits discussed in class. The subjects of this study included:

This research culminated in the authorship of formal biographies, which were elegantly framed and presented to the respective mentors as a token of appreciation and scholarly achievement.

Through this innovative approach, Dr. Maheen has not only enriched the curriculum but has also empowered a new generation of practitioners who value the synergy between intellectual knowledge and practical excellence.

Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences (BUMHS), Quetta has officially announced the distribution schedule for the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.

📅 **Starting From:** 08 April 2026
📍 **Venue:** BMC & Main Campus BUMHS
⏰ **Distribution Method:** Slot-based system (limited students per day)

🔹 Students will be entertained strictly according to their assigned time slots
🔹 Latecomers will be accommodated at the end of the day (subject to availability)
🔹 Saturday & Sunday will remain off
