Research Excellence at NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (CoEME)

We are delighted to announce that three innovative research projects from NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (CoEME) have secured funding under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) National Research Program for Universities (NRPU).

These projects address critical national and global challenges through cutting-edge research and technological innovation.

1. AI-Driven Multimodal Behavioral Biomarkers for Early Detection of Mild Cognitive Impairment
Principal Investigator: Dr. Ahsan Shahzad, Department of Computer & Software Engineering (DC&SE)
Funding: PKR 13.46 Million

2. Additive Manufacturing of Nature-Inspired PCM Heat Exchangers for AI-Guided Passive Thermal Regulation in Pakistani Buildings
Principal Investigator: Dr. Abdur Rehman Mazhar, Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME)
Funding: PKR 7.50 Million

3. Static or Dynamic Wireless Charging Infrastructure Development for Electric Vehicles
Principal Investigator: Dr. Hassan Khalid, Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE)
Funding: PKR 6 Million

Total Funding Secured: PKR 26.9 Million
