At Doha College, preparing pupils for life beyond school is an integral part of the 6th Form journey.
Over two inspiring days, our Year 12 pupils took their first steps towards their university application journey, exploring the many pathways available to them after Doha College.
From UCAS and personal statements to opportunities in the UK, USA, Canada, the Netherlands and Australia, pupils gained valuable insight into making informed decisions about their futures.
They also heard from industry professionals across Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, Dentistry, Aviation and the Creative Arts, alongside Doha College alumni who shared first-hand experiences of university life and the transition from school to higher education.
These experiences are a powerful example of Learning for Life in action, equipping pupils with the knowledge, confidence and connections to pursue their ambitions on a global stage.
A huge thank you to our alumni, guest speakers, university partners and staff for inspiring and guiding our pupils as they begin this exciting next chapter.

It was great to have Erin King, a DC alumna, visit our campus this week!
With an incredible professional sports career, Erin is currently the captain of Ireland’s Women’s National Rugby Team and recently proudly played at the 2026 Women's Six Nations Championship.
It was a privilege to welcome Erin back to Doha College and see her inspire the next generation of DC athletes.
We loved having you back on campus, Erin!

In May, we held our annual Year 9 Science Fair, where a myriad of scientific projects filled the corridors of our science department.
Hear from some of our pupils as they excitedly share their projects.
The annual Science Fair is a fantastic example of the breadth of subject enrichment opportunities available to our pupils, empowering them to explore learning beyond the classroom, think independently, and develop the confidence to present and defend their ideas.

New classrooms, new teachers, new friendships and exciting new opportunities ahead.
Last week, Doha College pupils took part in Move-Up Day, an important step in preparing for the next stage of their educational journey. From Primary pupils spending the day in their future classrooms to Year 6 pupils experiencing life in Secondary School, the day was designed to build confidence, spark excitement and help every child feel ready for the year ahead.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming pupils new to the Doha College community. They had the opportunity to meet their Heads of Year, explore the campus, and begin forming connections with their new peers.
Move-Up Day is about more than transition; it is about belonging. By giving pupils a glimpse of the opportunities, friendships, subjects and experiences that await them, we ensure they return after the summer feeling confident, familiar and excited for the next chapter of their educational journey at Doha College.

Starting Secondary school is a big milestone for every child. At Doha College, we make sure every pupil feels ready, confident and excited for the journey ahead.
Our Year 6 pupils recently took part in taster lessons that spanned three weeks, a unique opportunity that reflects the DC Difference and our commitment to putting pupils at the centre of everything we do.
Designed to build confidence and familiarity, these sessions gave pupils a glimpse into the exciting opportunities that await them next year. From learning navigation skills and finding their way around Secondary school in Geography, to greeting one another and introducing themselves in Spanish, conducting exciting experiments in Science, and creating pixel art in Design Technology, pupils experienced the breadth of learning on offer while getting to know the teachers they will meet in Year 7.
By thinking ahead and creating meaningful opportunities like these, Doha College ensures that every pupil feels supported, prepared and excited for the journey ahead.

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating our Year 11 pupils at Doha College’s Year 11 Celebration Evening.
What an incredible evening it was. The pupils looked absolutely fantastic. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and genuine enjoyment on the faces of both pupils and staff was a wonderful reminder of why events like this matter so much.
Hear from our pupils about how they feel.
One of the highlights of the evening was listening to our tutors deliver their speeches. The depth of knowledge they have of their pupils, the personal stories they shared, and the genuine care and affection that shone through were truly special. It was a powerful reflection of the relationships that have been built over the years and the impact that tutors have on the lives of young people.
A huge thank you must go to the fantastic Deputy Head of Year, Mrs Corr, and Head of Year, Mr North, whose hard work, dedication, and attention to detail helped make the evening such a success. Alongside the wider team, an enormous amount of planning went into creating a memorable event for our pupils.
Most importantly, the evening was a celebration of a year group that has shown remarkable resilience. They have navigated challenges and uncertainty with maturity, determination, and strength of character. They thoroughly deserved the opportunity to come together, celebrate their achievements, and enjoy the company of their friends and teachers.
Evenings like this serve as an important reminder that education is about so much more than grades and examinations. It is about the relationships we build, the connections we make, the support we provide one another, and the memories we create together. Those human interactions are what truly matter, both in education and in life.
