This week, we were delighted to welcome Petra Hau, Head of IB World School at Stiftung Louisenlund, to NLS.
As we continue our journey as an IB World School, Petra’s visit is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the connection between our two schools and further our shared commitment to international education. During her time on campus, she engaged with students and teachers, experienced life at NLS firsthand, and exchanged valuable insights with our community.
We are grateful for her visit and look forward to continuing our collaboration as part of the global IB community.

Community impact is at the heart of our learning!
NLS students are conducting a research project with the Inzozi Community Centre, a local initiative in Gashora that empowers children through learning and literacy programs. The centre is currently facing funding challenges that threaten its continuity, making it the focus of a student-led impact assessment.
Through research, interviews, and stakeholder engagement, students are generating insights to support advocacy, fundraising, and long-term sustainability.
This is what learning looks like when it is connected to real-world impact.

Our students represented NLS and Rwanda at the Round Square Conference in Arusha, Tanzania, joining peers from around the world in meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and hands-on learning experiences. Through discussions and shared activities, they gained fresh perspectives, strengthened their confidence, and broadened their global outlook.
Experiences like these reflect our commitment to developing confident, globally minded learners who are prepared to lead and make impact.

NLS Aviation Day responded to that future demand by bringing students together with Rwanda aviation industry leaders from RAC, RCAA, RwandAir, Akagera Aviation, and Zipline Rwanda.
Through inspiring conversations and live demonstrations, the day connected learning with real-world aviation experience and strengthened the path toward building future-ready talent.
