The new Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba:

• Took 11 months to be meticulously crafted.
• Made up of 47 silk panels, embroidered with 68 Quranic verses.
• Weight: 1,415 kg.
• Undergoes rigorous inspection at every stage within the King Abdulaziz Complex.

The Saudi Heritage Commission announced an exciting discovery of approximately 1700 inscriptions and drawings in the Madinah region dating back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him (570 - 632 AD), and Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him (died 644 AD). The inscription bears the name of Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph of Islam. It also includes the beautiful phrase: “Allah is the ally of Umar ibn al-Khattab in this world and the Hereafter. There is no God but Allah”, alongside verses of Arabic poetry engraved on the rocks that have withstood the ravages of time; this elevates the historical value of the site and places it among locations of utmost civilizational importance.

This is a very important discovery for early Islamic history. The words are written in Hijazi script, one of the oldest forms of Arabic writing used in the first decades of Islam. Scholars and researchers say that such findings help us better understand the life, faith, and historical role of Caliph Umar رضي الله عنه. His caliphate from 634 to 644 CE is remembered for justice, strong administration, care for the people, and the expansion of security on trade and pilgrimage routes.

The annual replacement of the Kiswah of the Kabah was traditionally carried out on the Day of Arafah each year.
In recent years, however, this practice has changed, and the replacement is now scheduled to take place on the 1st of Muharram 1448 AH.

حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور کہنے لگے: ہائے میرے گناہ! ہائے میرے گناہ! اس نے یہ دو یا تین مرتبہ کہا۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اس سے ارشاد فرمایا: تم کہو

اللہم مغفرتک اوسع من ذنوبی ورحمتک ارجی عندی من عملی۔

اللہ! آپ کی مغفرت میرے گناہوں سے بہت زیادہ وسیع ہے اور میں اپنے عمل سے زیادہ آپ کی رحمت کا امیدوار ہوں۔ اس شخص نے یہ کلمات کہے۔ آ پ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: پھر کہو، اس نے پھر کہے۔ آپ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: پھر کہو اس نے تیسری مرتبہ بھی یہ کلمات کہے۔ اس کے بعد آپ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: اٹھ جاؤ اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہاری مغفرت فرمادی۔
