The supplication of the Prophet Adam (peace be upon him)
This is the first supplication ever uttered by humankind. It was the supplication of the Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) when he committed his first sin and turned to Allah (peace be upon him) in repentance. It is a beneficial supplication to recite for istighfar (seeking forgiveness).
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Rabbana thalamnaanfusana wain lam taghfirlanawatarhamnalanakoonanna mina alkhasireena
“O our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. And if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will most certainly be among the losers. (Quran 7:23)
