On questions about salary: You can't choose what and how you'll be asked by hiring managers, but you have control over how you respond.
If you wanted to come out strong, how will you react and what will you choose to say the next time?

TL;DR Mondays! IS IT LEGAL TO ASK ABOUT SALARY HISTORY?
Some states in America have adopted laws banning employers from requesting salary history when deciding to offer employment, or in determining compensation during the hiring process.
Unlike those states, it is entirely legal for companies in Singapore to ask about salary history.
Although job applicants do not have to reveal their last drawn salaries, there is a high risk of not getting the job.
Why? Well in Singapore, it is common practice to ask about salary early on in the hiring process and for your last 3-months payslip before an official offer.
Asking about salary early on is part of the alignment conversation. Are you within or out of their range to continue the conversation?
Requesting for your 3-month payslip is to check that you were employed till the time you claim you were and to review your demand for the salary that you're seeking.
In all honesty, being upfront about your last drawn and salary expectations SAVES YOUR TIME and EFFORT in a hiring process.
Not only would your application be accelerated faster if there is a good fit, the rejection would also come sooner if there was a mismatch.

"Hands up if you've done at least one of these things:
1) Turned up overdressed (sometimes underdressed)
2) Took awkward pauses and derailed the rest of the interview
3) Talked like a bullet train
4) Got overly confident and eager to the point of off putting
5) Panicked and forgot the interviewer's name
6) Reached out with clammy sweaty hands UGH
For me, I DID ALL OF THOSE THINGS.
It took a long time for me to get the hang of recruiting, even when I was a recruiter.
Fast forward to 4 years later after a bunch of failures and opportunities lost (thankfully! but more on that later), interviewing has become almost like second nature to me.
Now I look back on those embarrassing and teaching moments to have a good laugh.
Quoting my mentor: "I'm a big believer in using other people's learnings to help me achieve my goals faster (as hopefully it allows me to miss a bunch of mistakes along the way)."
So here are my 4 best tips on how to get over the fear of interviewing, slowly but surely!"

Despite what others may say about cover letters, it is not all useless or just a traditional practice our parents used to follow.
When used correctly, having a cover letter can set you apart from a stack of applications.
It's 2020, Are Cover Letters Still Necessary?
What you have gathered from a Googling spree and even hearsay about the importance of cover letters may be more confusing than helpful. The information (and opinions) on this age-old question is varied. As you forage for answers, these thoughts compound your doubts: “Does anyone even read them?”...
