P6 Science (Topic: Adaptations)
My P6 students recently started learning about **Adaptations**. One of the first concepts they learnt was the difference between **structural** and **behavioural adaptations**.
At the end of the lesson, I organised a mini competition β Boys vs Girls! π
They had to define both types of adaptations and recall as many examples for each type of adaptation as they could from the lesson.
The winning team went home with some yummy snacks π«π

P5 & P6 English βοΈ
When writing compositions, many students tend to use very simple sentences that do not make their writing engaging or descriptive.
In a recent lesson, my upper primary students learnt how to show and not tell. They explored descriptive phrases and even came up with their own ways to describe emotions, people and scenes.
It was wonderful seeing their creativity shine through their writing π

My P3 students learnt about **onomatopoeia** β sound words as an introduction technique for composition writing βοΈ
To introduce the topic, I played a video and tasked them to identify and write down as many sound words as they could hear. They did a brilliant job spotting the different sounds! π
Using onomatopoeia in compositions helps to make writing more lively, engaging and descriptive π
Here's the link to the video that I played for them.

My P4 students are currently learning angles π
Some common challenges include using a protractor accurately and drawing angles correctly. During a recent practice, students had hands-on experience with on-the-spot guidance and correction.
This helped boost their confidence and strengthened their understanding of the topic π

My P5 students used Unifix cubes to build different solid figures, then drew the top, side and front views on square grids.
Using manipulatives helped them better understand how solids look from different directions, making learning more concrete and meaningful.
