Happy World Environment Day! π What can we learn from the people who cared before it was popular to do so? In recent years, sustainability in Singapore has found new energy. It can feel as though something has shifted quite suddenly, that sustainability awareness in Singapore has arrived all at once. But it did not. What we are seeing today has been built over many years, often quietly and without recognition, by people and organisations who chose to care before it was easy or even welcomed to do so. π

Can sustainability feel more meaningful when participation is familiar, accessible, and inclusive? π Since April 2026, weβve partnered with Return Right with BCRS to support seniors in understanding the Beverage Container Return Scheme, working with Active Ageing Centres and social service agencies. π
So far, weβve completed 6 outreach sessions and engaged 245 seniors! πͺ Through hands-on guidance and machine demonstrations, the experience becomes more visible, tangible, and easier to participate in on the ground!
Weβre grateful for the support of Active Ageing Centres in filling remaining slots, and look forward to meeting more seniors through these sessions. Interested in bringing a similar collaboration to your community? Reach out to us at [email protected] β weβd love to explore how environmental and social experiences can come together. π

Believing that collective action is key to systemic change, she wants to understand peopleβs mindsets towards the environment π±. Outside of work, she is an avid bookworm who can often be found curled up with a novel, a comic, or a humorous piece of online fiction πβ¨

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri from all of us at Green Nudge! πβ¨ In a season of new outfits, what would it look like to honour what has always been there? As beautiful festive looks fill our feeds, we take a moment to look back and honour the sarong β a simple, versatile fabric worn across Southeast Asia for centuries. More than clothing, it represents identity and community, and a connection to the communities and traditions that shape us. Wishing all a joyous celebration filled with love, light, and cherished moments with loved ones! ππ₯³

Happy Global Recycling Day! β» What drives people to return bottles? And how can we design systems that are coherent, reliable, and aligned with how people actually behave? π€ shares his reflections on the upcoming launch of the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS), coming at a time when recycling is widely accepted, yet fitting it seamlessly into daily life remains the challenge.
P.S. From April to May 2026, with support from BCRS Ltd, Green Nudge will partner with Active Ageing Centres and community organisations to run outreach sessions to guide them through the scheme and make participation easier.
