AC Green Week 2026 🌱
From 19 to 22 May, we celebrated Green Week 2026, an event proudly organised by our CCE Ambassadors!
Throughout the week, students visited interactive booths during recess to learn more about reducing food waste, recycling, and protecting our environment. From trying edible mealworms 🪱 and planting their own seeds 🪴 to taking part in quizzes, recycling challenges, and writing pledges for the environment ✍️, our gentlemen had many opportunities to learn while having fun.
The booths also encouraged everyone to reflect on how small everyday actions can make a big difference in combating climate change and building a more sustainable future 🌍♻️
A big thank you to all students and teachers who supported Green Week and contributed to making AC a greener school community!

As part of their annual Values in Action (VIA) efforts, our Chinese Orchestra had the privilege of collaborating once again with their longstanding community partners whom they have journeyed with for many years.
Our gentlemen visited Lions Befrienders to interact with the seniors through music performances and conversations, bringing warmth and joy to the community through the gift of music.
They also welcomed the children from HeartField Kindergarten to our school campus, where our CO members introduced them to the different Chinese Orchestra instruments through sharing sessions, demonstrations, and performances.
Beyond performing, these experiences allowed our students to learn the importance of empathy, service, and building meaningful connections across generations. It was heartening to see our boys step forward with enthusiasm, care, and a willingness to serve the community through music.
A big thank you to Lions Befrienders and HeartField Kindergarten for the valuable partnership and for allowing our students to grow through these meaningful experiences!

Bringing Literature to life beyond the classroom
Our Secondary 2 gentlemen recently attended a live performance of their Literature text at the RELC Auditorium as part of the English Language & Literature Department’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP). Through this immersive theatre experience, students deepened their understanding of the text, explored its themes and characters more meaningfully, and experienced the impact of storytelling beyond the printed page.
At Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road), we continue to create authentic learning experiences that encourage our boys to communicate with accuracy, coherence and boldness while developing a deeper appreciation for language, literature and the arts.

Thank you for the incredible turnout and support at our DSA Engagement Session 2026! ❤️💙💛
We were heartened to welcome prospective students and parents to ACS (Barker Road) as they experienced the warmth, vibrancy, and spirit of our school community.
From the sharing by our School Leaders and current DSA students, to the interactions with our dedicated CCA teachers and student leaders, the session reflected what it truly means to be part of ACS (Barker Road) — a community committed to nurturing every student as:
• A Steward of Learning and Talents
• A Thinker who Creates Value
• A Leader with God-fearing Character
Thank you to all parents, students, staff, and student leaders for making this event so meaningful and memorable. We hope the session provided a deeper insight into the opportunities, culture, and values that define ACS (Barker Road).

On 18 April 2026, our Secondary 4 gentlemen from Tennis, Floorball, and Football collaborated with Stevens Road Residents’ Network to organise a Sports Carnival for children from the neighbourhood.
From fun games and friendly competition to laughter and encouragement, the morning was filled with active movement, teamwork, and meaningful connections. More than simply using their sporting talents to teach and engage, our boys stepped up as role models, demonstrating leadership and a heart for service.
It was heartening to see sport become a bridge for community bonding, as our gentlemen used their talents to create a memorable experience for the young participants.
We are proud of our gentlemen for showing that leadership is demonstrated not only on the court or field, but also through service to others.

During the ceremony, both our newly-appointed and current CCE Ambassadors were invited on stage to receive their badges as a symbol of their meaningful contributions to school life, including supporting NE commemorative events and raising awareness of key values and causes.
We look forward to seeing them continue to make a positive impact on the school community.

From fieldwork in Redhill to presenting their ideas at NUS, 4 of our students recently participated in the NUS Geography Challenge 2026 — “City for Tomorrow, Shaping Our Liveable Future” 🌏🏙️
As part of the Creative Component, the team explored the concept of liveability by conducting fieldwork in Redhill, gathering firsthand insights into how residents experience and interact with their urban environment. Through geographical inquiry and research, they examined how existing infrastructure, accessibility, and community spaces contribute to the well-being of residents, while proposing ideas to further enhance liveability within the subzone.
The Preliminary Round, held on 28 March 2026 at the National University of Singapore, provided our boys with the opportunity to collaborate, think critically, and apply geographical concepts to real-world urban challenges alongside students from across Singapore.
We would like to commend the following students for being thinkers who create value:
• Asher Lin (4E)
• Lim Yong Jae (4E)
• Kellan Lim (4E)
• Nathaniel Lee (4E).
Special mention goes to Asher Lin for attaining Bronze in the Preliminary Round. Congratulations!🥉
We are proud of our gentlemen for representing ACS (Barker Road) with curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning.
To God Be The Glory,
The Best Is Yet To Be.
