PRESS RELEASE

The Students’ Union Government of Njala University Bo Campus stand to formally condemn the election that was conducted today by the Njala University Public Health Association. The process undertaken was illegitimate, unauthorized, and conducted in clear violation of the established legal and procedural requirements governing student elections on campus.

It is important to state that the organizers failed to seek approval from the Students’ Union Government and the University Administration, as required by institutional regulations. Despite clear procedures outlining the need for proper clearance, oversight, and validation, the organizers deliberately ignored these mandatory steps.

During the election, the President of the Students' Union Government intervened and officially placed the process on hold pending proper administrative review. However, immediately after the President’s departure, the organizers proceeded unlawfully with the election, directly contravening the directive issued by the Union’s leadership.

The Students’ Union Government therefore declares the following:
1. The election conducted on 27th November 2025 by Njala University Public Health Association is null, void, and invalid.

2. The Students’ Union Government does not recognize any individual claiming to be elected from this process.

3. The University Administration similarly does not recognize any results or outcomes from this unauthorized election.

4. All results, announcements, or claims emerging from the said election are hereby rejected and condemned.

We call on all student bodies, associations, and organizations to respect the legal frameworks and uphold the institutional procedures that safeguard transparency, fairness, and accountability in student governance. Any future election processes must strictly adhere to the regulations of the Students’ Union Government and the University Administration.

Further administrative actions will be communicated as necessary.

NJALA UNIVERSITY SIERRA LEONE PAID ITS LAST RESPECTS TO THE LATE FATHER OF THE MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION, GOVERNMENT OF SIERRA LEONE, AS HE WAS LAID TO REST YESTERDAY AT THE KISSY ROAD CEMETERY IN FREETOWN.

The Njala University Students Union, Bo Campus and Njala Campus Mokonde, together with the University Administration, paid their last respects to the late father of the Minister of Higher Education, Government of Sierra Leone, in Freetown.

As a premium university, Njala is highly regarded for its outstanding academic achievements and prudence. The university stands as a strong foundation of academic excellence in Sierra Leone and has contributed significantly to the country’s educational progress and its human capital development index. It is on this premise that an invite was given to the university to pay its last respects to the late father of the Minister of Higher Education, Government of Sierra Leone.

Both Students’ Union Governments of Njala University, Njala Campus Mokonde, and Njala University Bo Campus were present to honor the invitation that was given to the university. It was a moment of inconsolable reflection as we witnessed the burial ceremony of the late man.

Conclusively, the burial ceremony ended, the team returned home safely and peacefully. The Students’ Union Government remains steadfast in representing the general student body of Njala University, Bo Campus.

NJALA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ UNION GOVERNMENT MOURNS THE DEATH OF OUR DEAR BROTHER, AND COLLEAGUE MOHAMED KAMARA.

Today the Njala University Students Union Government received a heartbroken message and wishes to announce the sudden death of our dear brother, friend, colleague, and classmate Mohamed Kamara, who was pursuing State Registered Nurse (SRN) Year Two (2) now.

Mohamed Kamara was a gentleman who was very determined to learn, but unfortunately, God has called him to rest in Heaven.

It’s sad to hear this tragic news that we’ve lost our beloved brother, friend, and colleague in Kenema to the cold hands of death.

Let’s remember him in our prayers and hope we sympathize with the bereaved family.

Rest well, dear brother, and may Allah grant you mercy and a peaceful rest in Heaven. 😢🙏🏾
