Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting a sharing session with Maun Cezario on the topic “The Art and Technique of Debate.”

We are sincerely grateful to Maun Cezario for taking the time to join us and share his valuable insights. His presentation broadened our perspectives and deepened our understanding of what makes a debate both effective and meaningful.

One of the key messages from the session was that debate is not about personal attacks or proving others wrong. Rather, it is about examining issues critically, exchanging different viewpoints, and working together to identify practical solutions. Although participants may hold different opinions, the ultimate goal is to promote understanding, clarify issues, and encourage constructive discussion.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our moderator, who guided the session professionally and ensured that everything ran smoothly.

We are delighted to invite you to an insightful Sharing Session entitled “The Art and Technique of Debate.” This session is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of debate by exploring effective communication, logical reasoning, structured argumentation, and persuasive speaking techniques.

The session will be facilitated by Mr. Cezario Cesar, the Coordinator of Community Engagement and Public Affairs in the Timor-Leste Debating Group (TLDG), who will share valuable knowledge and practical strategies for developing strong and compelling arguments.

Today, we started our activities by welcoming new members. They came with great enthusiasm and eager to join the Circle of Learning.Right after that, we went straight into the long-awaited session: a debate between the two divided circles. As usual, it wasn't just a heated debate. It was absolutely fiery, with everyone bringing their own perspectives on the topic. Through this, we continue to learn and grow within this circle.

Yesterday, the members of TienClub explored the topic: “How can Timorese Youth (Gen-Z) shape the future of Timor-Leste?”

Participants were divided into three groups, where everyone contributed thoughtful ideas, personal experiences, and constructive perspectives about the role of young people in building a stronger nation. The discussion encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence in expressing opinions.

At the end of the session, each group presented their key points and reflections to all participants, creating a meaningful exchange of ideas and inspiration.
