When children struggle on a word, itโs often not a lack of effort, itโs a missing decoding strategy.
Instead of guessing, we teach them how to break words into manageable parts and blend them step by step.
Thatโs what turns struggle into success.

Struggling readers often rely on guessing, pictures, or memory.
Strong readers use letter-sound knowledge to decode unfamiliar words.
That difference is what determines long-term reading success.
In our programme, we explicitly teach decoding strategies so children can read independently.

Guessing often looks like reading, but it doesn't help children become independent readers.
Strong readers know what to do when they get stuck. They have strategies that help them work through unfamiliar words.
In our sessions, students learn practical decoding strategies that help them approach new words with confidence.

Many struggling readers think reading is about remembering words. In reality, skilled readers rely on patterns and knowledge of how our language works.
When children understand these patterns, unfamiliar words become less intimidating and reading becomes more accurate.
That's why our lessons focus on teaching children how words work, not just what words say.

Many parents think reading is about memorizing words but in reality, reading follows patterns.
Children need to be taught these patterns clearly so they can understand how words work, not just remember them.
From sound rules to spelling patterns, each of these โrulesโ helps children decode words more accurately and confidently.
In our sessions, we guide students through these patterns step by step, so reading becomes something they can figure out not something they have to guess.
When children understand the structure behind words, everything begins to click.

Blending is how children turn sounds into words.
Instead of guessing, we teach students to:
โข Say each sound
โข Stretch it
โข Blend it together
This builds accuracy and confidence.
In our sessions, blending is practiced until it becomes automatic.

The letter g can make two sounds.
Before e, i, or y, it often says /j/ (giant, gem, gym).
Before a, o, u, it usually says /g/ (go, gum, gate).
Understanding this pattern helps children read unfamiliar words more accurately.
In our sessions, we teach these rules so students can approach new words with confidence.

The letter c doesnโt always say /k/.
Before e, i, or y, it usually says /s/ (cent, city, cycle).
This is why cat and city sound different, even though they both start with c.
When children are taught these patterns directly, they stop guessing and start decoding with intention.
In our programme, we make these patterns clear and consistent for every learner.

Both c and k can make the /k/ sound but they are not used randomly.
We typically use:
โข c before a, o, u โ cat, cot, cup
โข k before e, i, y โ key, kite, sky
Teaching this pattern helps children make better spelling choices and read unfamiliar words more confidently.
In our sessions, students learn to look at the whole word pattern, not just one letter.

Why is it duck and not duk?
After a short vowel, the /k/ sound at the end of a word is usually spelled ck (back, neck, sick, rock).
This pattern helps signal that the vowel before it is short.
When children learn this, spelling becomes more predictable and decoding improves too.
In our programme, we donโt leave spelling to chance, we teach the patterns behind it.
