A Landmark Partnership for Womenโs Health in Africa ๐
ECSACOG and CMSA have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a major step forward in strengthening collaboration to improve womenโs health across Africa. ๐ค
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to reducing maternal morbidity and mortality, strengthening specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, advancing research and innovation, and improving access to quality reproductive and maternal healthcare for women throughout the region.
By working together, ECSACOG and CMSA aim to build a stronger and more skilled specialist workforce that will contribute to safer pregnancies, better maternal outcomes, and healthier communities.
This collaboration is more than an agreement โ it is a commitment to protecting the health, dignity, and future of women and girls in Africa.

Strengthening Collaboration in Zanzibar
This morning, the ECSACOG team held a productive meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Zanzibar Ministry of Health, ahead of the official accreditation visit to Jitimai District Hospital.
The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to align on shared priorities, including strengthening OB/GYN training, improving maternal and newborn health services, and fostering excellence in specialist medical education across the region.

Advancing Specialist Training in Kenya ๐ฐ๐ช
East Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrician and Gynaecology conducted an accreditation visit at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret to evaluate its suitability as a training site for Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialists, focusing on clinical capacity, training environment, and adherence to required standards.
This process plays a critical role in ensuring that accredited institutions are well-equipped to train the next generation of specialists. The visit also provided an opportunity to engage with faculty and clinical teams on strengthening training and service delivery.
We commend the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital team for their commitment to excellence in both education and patient care.
