A heartfelt thank you to The Nature Conservancy for supporting See Stories Live 2026.
Their sponsorship helped make this event possible and directly supports opportunities for Alaska youth to share stories connected to community, culture, environment, and lived experience.
So much of the work we do at See Stories centers around helping young people explore and document their relationships to place, land, water, and community through storytelling and film. We’re incredibly grateful to partner with organizations like The Nature Conservancy that understand the importance of protecting not only environments, but also the stories and connections tied to them.
Community support like this helps us continue creating meaningful, creative opportunities for youth across Alaska.
Thank you, The Nature Conservancy, for believing in the power of storytelling, education, and community connection.

See Stories' Interim Executive Director Seth Bader just finished up an amazing week in Bristol Bay, working with young adults from Naknek. Last week's program "Currents of Connection" has been a long time coming! See Stories was thrilled to partner with Nels Ure, who has spent much of his life fishing in Naknek, and has long envisioned a workshop for Naknek youth to share why salmon is so important to them and their community.
See Stories partnered with Native Movement, and worked alongside Nels and 6 incredible, passionate, and dedicated young-adults who took a deep dive into media to shape incredible stories around family, legacy, connection to place, and a common love for salmon. We are also so grateful to the Bristol Bay Historical Society for hosting a well-attended community film screening at the Bristol Bay Museum at the end of the week.

We want to give a huge thank you to Aurora Grand Theatre for helping make See Stories Live 2026 possible.
Not only did they generously donate the theater space for the evening, but they also donated all concession proceeds from the event in support of youth storytelling and media education across Alaska.
We truly could not have pulled this event off without their support, generosity, and belief in the importance of community storytelling.
Aurora Grand is a place dedicated to keeping film, theater, and the arts alive in Juneau, and we are so grateful they chose to show up for See Stories and the young filmmakers we work with.
There honestly could not have been a more perfect place for these stories to be shared.
Thank you, Aurora Grand Theatre, for supporting youth voices, local storytelling, and community connection

Meet Nels Ure. He grew up fishing Bristol Bay, and salmon have influenced just about everything in his life since.
This week, Nels is in Naknek coordinating Currents of Connection, a youth filmmaking program where six young adults spent the week crafting their own salmon stories and narratives. Nels partnered with See Stories because storytelling and stewardship, for him, have always gone hand in hand.
We will be sharing much more about this work, project, and the films next Friday!

A huge thank you to for supporting See Stories Live 2026.
Community partnerships like this truly help make events like ours possible. KTOO not only helped us spread the word about See Stories Live by generously donating airtime, but also contributed to our silent auction in support of Alaska youth storytelling.
Their support helps us continue creating opportunities for young people across Alaska to share their voices, stories, and experiences through film and media.
We’re incredibly grateful for their partnership and are excited to continue building this relationship and supporting community storytelling together.
Thank you, KTOO, for believing in youth voices and the power of local stories.

Wow! Another amazing event for our second See Stories LIVE! We are so thankful to the Juneau community that came out on a beautiful sunny evening! And to our 5 youth filmmakers that braved the stage and shared their films and stories with us! Some of our filmmakers even traveled by plane for this event! There was so much great community involvement- tons of silent auction donations, a local musician, food/donuts, sparking spruce water, concessions….family! It was a wonderful time, and all funds raised are going towards our youth film programs!
A special thanks to the Aurora Grand Theater for donating the space and to the owners, Emelia, James, and Elise for all their support. KTOO () and The Nature Conservancy () for sponsoring this event. Quinton Woolman-Morgan for being our musical guest. The Black and White Raven Company (), The Harbor Mountain Brewing (), Jellyfish Donuts (), and to all our donors for our silent auction!
We can't wait for the next night of See Stories Live in a community near you! Until then, we are still continuing the work of building inclusive communities with film & story!
