Watch out world. These mamas are out n about w/o our kids. What did we do? Order food, eat, and people watch on the beltline. Then we came home to watch FIFA World Cup and Atlanta Dream

My first-ever book signing event is officially in the books šŸ˜‰and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with me (family, friends, fellow educators, readers, and those who simply wanted to hear my story and share in this journey.) This moment meant more than I can put into words.
Little me would never have imagined standing in a bookstore signing copies of a book with my name on the cover. Yet here we are, and I’m still in awe.
A huge thank you to Bookish Atlanta for hosting such a warm and welcoming event. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re made to feel like you belong. Spaces like this matter, and independent bookstores do so much more than sell books, they build community, create connections, and give stories a place to find their readers.
If you have an independent bookstore in your community, support it. Visit it. Browse the shelves, attend an event, buy a book, because these places are special.
Thank you all for helping make this milestone one I’ll never forget. My heart is so full. ā¤ļøšŸ“š

The only ā€œcomplaintā€ was my absence. Teachers deserve to take care of ourselves w/o feeling guilty, and this includes using our personal days too šŸ¤—

Spent the afternoon at the park and then checked out , Atlanta’s first women’s sports bar.
The food absolutely hit the spot, the servers were incredibly kind, and the atmosphere was the kind that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you love sports, especially women’s sports, good food, and great company, put Jolene Jolene on your list.
Fox, OG, and I snapped a quick photo with the owner whose name is not Jolene, BTW šŸ˜‰.
It’s always special to see spaces that celebrate women’s sports, build community, and make everyone feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back, because it’s literally in our neighborhood.
And yes I’m wearing a dress šŸ¤—
