I did a thing and it means a lot to me🤍
Over the past few months, I’ve created a series of journals designed to support the people who are often pouring into others every single day.
As a special educator and coordinator, I know how much we carry, the decisions, the meetings, the emotions, and the responsibility.
So I created something I felt was missing…
A space to reflect.
A space to process.
A space to breathe.
The E.A.S.E. Reflective Practice Series includes:
📘 A journal for special educators
📗 A guided reflection journal for deeper thinking
📙 A journal for special education leaders
📕 A journal for parents navigating the journey
Each one is designed with intention, purpose, and care- because behind every IEP, every meeting, and every decision… there’s a person who deserves support too.
If this resonates with you or someone you know, feel free to check them out 🤍

✨ The first chapter of Going Through Special Education Eligibility with E.A.S.E. is one of the most important! ✨
So many parents, caregivers, and even educators automatically think that every child who struggles in school must need special education… but that is simply NOT the case! Every struggle doesn’t mean special education is the answer.
Chapter 1 helps you slow down, get a little clarity, and understand the bigger picture before jumping to conclusions.

Exceptional Ease Family I would like for you to meet our newest Exceptional Hero Natasha! Natasha is near and dear to my heart because she was one of my first exceptional babies that I had the pleasure of pouring into as a teacher. I absolutely love her! She was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. Her hero of a mom shared that the most rewarding thing about her journey has been being able to witness all the tremendous developmental and academic strides she has made. Before receiving her diagnosis, Natasha had issues with verbal communication, however with the support of her speech therapist she has developed confidence and speaks what’s on her mind. Academically, she has earned awards in her core academic subjects and has plans to attend college one day. Natasha sometimes still has challenges with meeting new people and initiating conversation, but with time she’s able to make connections and build strong relationships. Mom wants other parents to know that the earlier you speak up and ask for help, the sooner your child can receive the necessary support and services. Her advice is to connect with other parents to help in building your community. Natasha has dreams of entrepreneurship and owning her own pet store and mom is working on establishing a non-profit that focuses on building college and career readiness skills as well as providing scholarships to children with special needs. Swipe to see more of Natasha’s awesomeness and drop a comment to show Natasha and her mom some love for being amazing Exceptional Heroes!!!

Hi there Exceptional Ease Family! I would like you to meet DeAndre! DeAndre is Autistic and was diagnosed at age 3. He was mute until approximately age 9. When DeAndre began to learn to speak, he started with using one word at a time and has gradually been progressing to using full sentences. His mom and dad who are certainly Exceptional Heroes themselves work together to share in his growth and attribute DeAndre’s progress to his awesome team of therapist as well as his obsession with microphones. He loves to make pretend speeches using a microphone and has even created his own stand using boxes around the house. DeAndre also loves cars. His mother has created a non profit organization with a mission to provide resources and build a community of support for parents and caregivers with loved ones on the autism spectrum. Mom has shared that one of the biggest challenges on their journey is learning to be patient and understanding especially through the bad and ugly days they sometimes have, however she is trusting this ongoing process as she continues learning and watching him THRIVE! We honor DeAndre and both his loving parents as EXCEPTIONAL HEROES and welcome them all to the family! Follow DeAndre on his journey
You can also join the Autism and Us Facebook group for support from others on a similar journey. Let’s show DeAndre some love by saying hi and dropping a 🎤 or 🏎
