A remarkable moment at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 (𝗡𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗘𝗦), as Emory University incoming President Chris Augostini marked his first official act by welcoming over 600 global participants to our campus. The energy across our sessions highlights the critical role of institutional leadership and collaborative scholarship in advancing global economic research.

We are deeply grateful to incoming President Augostini for his time and support, and honored to host 𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘶𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘺𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪 (Princeton Economics), President of The Econometric Society and 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘕𝘨 (Columbia University) secretary of its North American Standing Committee.

A special thank you goes out to our incredible departmental staff and the dedicated graduate students whose hard work behind the scenes is making this landmark international conference an absolute success.

Our 2026 award recipient is Jafet Baca

Jafet Baca, a fourth-year doctoral candidate, served two consecutive fall semesters as the teaching assistant for Dr. Daniel Levy's Quantitative Methods 1 and 2, rigorous courses offered to first-year PhD students across Economics, the Business School, and the School of Public Health. Jafet has been exceptional in his role, functioning more as a co-teacher by diligently preparing and delivering new material during recitation meetings. In his nomination, Dr. Levy wrote, "He showed remarkable care for the students, which was very important given the pressure the students faced.
