We want to give a warm welcome to Tyler Clark. She is overjoyed to be joining the WP family as a kindergarten teacher this year! She is entering her sixth year of teaching, with her previous five years spent teaching in Gwinnett County while commuting from Monroe. Becoming part of a school in the community where her family lives and loves so much is truly a dream come true.
She is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She later received her Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University.
Kindergarten holds a special place in her heart. It is such a foundational year in a child’s educational journey, where confidence is built and a lifelong love of learning begins. She strives to create a fun, safe, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported. She has a passion for multi-sensory approaches where students use tactile experiences to explore and grow.
When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have two beautiful children. Their son, Lincoln, will be joining her at WP as a first grader this year, and their daughter, Emersyn, is one year old. They love spending their summers on St. George Island, Florida. Any free time she gets is usually spent enjoying an iced coffee and a good book.
Tyler shares "I can’t wait to meet all of my new students and families and make this a fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun. Go Eagles!"
Welcome to the Walker Park family!

While Mrs. Leigh Ann Armistead is certainly not new to Walker Park, she is stepping into a new role for the upcoming school year!
Mrs. Armistead graduated from Monroe Area High School and attended Gwinnett Technical College to become a drafter. She worked in drafting for 18 years before the COVID-19 pandemic led her down a new career path. In the 2021-2022 school year, she joined the Walker Park family as a substitute teacher and later became a paraprofessional. During the 2022-2023 school year, she transitioned to our cafeteria team, where she has served students and staff for the past four years. Now, she is excited to return to the classroom as a paraprofessional!
Mrs. Armistead has been married for 22 years and is the proud mother of two boys. When she's not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family fishing, kayaking, and riding dirt bikes.
As she looks ahead to the new school year, Mrs. Armistead shares, "I can't wait to see what the good Lord has in store for the next school year!"
We are excited for Mrs. Armistead as she begins this new chapter and continues making a difference in the lives of our Walker Park Eagles! Let's give her a warm Walker Park Welcome!
