What an incredible week at Southern Crescent Technical College's VEX EXP Robotics Summer Camp in Monticello!
Over the past four days, seven talented students from Jasper Middle School immersed themselves in hands-on STEM learning, building robots, solving engineering challenges, developing competition strategies, and competing in exciting robot soccer matches.
The camp concluded with a special showcase where students demonstrated their robots and shared what they learned with family members and guests. It was inspiring to see their creativity, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and confidence grow throughout the week.
These experiences help students discover pathways in engineering, robotics, advanced manufacturing, automation, and other high-demand technical careers while building skills that will serve them well in the future.
A special thank you to Mary Tumblin and Jasper Middle School for their partnership and support in making this camp possible. We would also like to thank Donna Boisseau and Angela Bates for helping make our closing celebration a memorable experience by providing lunch, teacher shirts, and grab bags for our students.
Also, a special thank you goes to our instructor, Ted Thompson, for his dedication, encouragement, and support of our students throughout the week.
Finally, thank you to our sponsors, P&G and Amazon, for their continued investment in STEM education and workforce development opportunities in our communities.
We are proud of each student and look forward to seeing where their STEM journey takes them next!
